The Trenches

Arthur and Clark arrive at the Trenches, once again Arthur must go on a rescue mission to save someone he loves. "These monsters will kill her, they'll rip her apart." "How do we save her?" "They hate light." Clark nods, "So, how do we get light?" Arthur hits his Trident on the ground and it creates a stream of light, allowing the two to jump into the swarm of beasts. "There she is!" Clark says as he and Arthur swim down further and faster. Arthur reaches out to grab her, when one of the beasts swipes at him, making him drop the Trident. Clark is quick to act and grabs the trident, still emitting light, and points it towards the beast. "Your sister, grab her!" Arthur says, grabbing the Trident, letting the stream of light shine on Valery, chasing the monsters away. Clark grabs Valery, and he and Arthur swim back to the surface where they're met by King Nereus and Queen Mera. "You! You had her exiled, if she dies, I swear you will go to the Trenches." "She attacked my daughter, she could've died at the hands of this Alien! I, not only sent her to the trenches, but I took away the powers that Poseidon bestowed on her." "Father, Valery had no control over it!" Mera shouts. "I don't care, this monster nearly killed you!" "So, we're not gonna bring up all the times she's tired to kill my sister?" Clark asks. "I've apologised for that, to both of them," Arthur growls at King Nereus and swims back towards the land with Valery in his arms, getting her to land.

Clark makes it to land first and takes Valery from Arthur, looking at her. "What did those beasts do to you?" Arthur gets out of the water, using the water to try and heal her. "Why isn't it working?! Come on Valery!" Clark exclaims. Arthur begins chest compressions, in hopes that it'll bring up any water Valery swallowed. "C'mon Val, breathe!" Arthur exclaims. "It's not working," Clark says. "I'm trying my best here!" Arthur hisses, before breathing into Valery's mouth, "C'mon, breathe for me...I need you. Your brother needs you, the team needs you...your mother needs you! Breathe!" Arthur pushes on her chest harder. Clark watches in anticipation when he hears a gurgle, Valery coughs up the water from her lungs. Arthur pulls her into his chest, crying and kissing her head. "I thought you died..." "I saw a bright light..." Valery says, her voice raspy. "I'm glad you didn't follow that light," Clark says. Arthur pulls away from Valery, "I have something to take care of." Valery stands up, with Clark's help, "Please don't exile King Nereus to the Trenches, I could've killed Mera, or worse killed others." "He had no right to exile you!" Arthur seethes. Valery jumps a bit, "He was protecting his daughter, his fatherly instincts kicked in and he went into a protective mode." "Why are you defending him, Valery?! You could've died because of him!" Valery takes a few steps back from Arthur. "Arthur, you need to calm down," Clark says. Arthur looks at Clark and shoves him into the water with his Trident at Clark's neck. Valery is quick to act and kicks the Trident from Arthur's hands, "STOP IT!" Arthur looks taken aback, stumbling a bit. "Clark, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." Arthur helps Clark up. "I'm gonna go, I'm sure you can manage here, I have to get back to Ma," Clark says, before flying off. Valery looks at Arthur, "I know I could've died, but I didn't." "Those beasts, they were about to rip you apart." Arthur says, wrapping his arms around Valery's waist. "Had it not been for you and my brother saving me." Valery looks up at him and stands on her tiptoes, pressing a kiss to his lips. All too soon the moment is cut short by both Arthur and Valery having a Trident sunken into their abdomens, before being ripped back out. Valery's eyes widen, as she looks at her stomach, before passing out. Arthur turns around to see the attacker, King Nereus. "You!" Arthur grabs his Trident and battles with Nereus while Mera helps Valery.

Mera applies pressure to Valery's stomach, causing Valery to let out a groan and grab Mera's arm. "Mera...I want you to take...to take care of...Arthur..." "He can take care of himself, you need to save your energy." "Help him..." "Would you please let me help you?" Valery nods, "Okay." Mera uses the water to heal Valery, "It's not working."
