It's been roughly a week since Mera's last attack, another one is due to brew. Right now Valery, Lois, Martha, Arthur, and Clark all sit in the kitchen of Martha's house. "Everything looks so good, Ma," Clark says. "It does look very good, did you do all of this yourself?" Valery asks. "Of course not, Lois helped, when you called and told me you were bringing someone special over to meet me, I knew I had to prepare a dinner." "Well, Lois, you also did a wonderful job." "Thank you, Valery." "So, Arthur, how did you meet my daughter?" Arthur smiles, "Well, Mrs. Kent, I met your beautiful daughter before Batman revived Clark. She was a feisty thing, she blamed Batman for Clark's death for a while, she didn't want to join Batman's team, which before her consisted of Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash, and I." "What convinced her?" Martha asks. "Batman's Butler, Alfred. Had he not kept badgering her, she wouldn't have joined the team." "I don't know how many times I told Alfred to tell Bruce to go to hell," Valery says with a laugh. "You should've seen her tear into Batman about bringing Clark back, but she wanted nothing more than to have her brother back," Arthur explains. Martha smiles, "My baby girl, always thinks of Clark first." "Wait you tore into Bruce?" Clark asks. "In my defense, I thought he was completely crazy for wanting to bring you back. But Barry could see how much I missed you, and he questioned whether or not I wanted you back, of course, I said yes you're my best friend." Clark smiles. Martha looks at Arthur, "What is it that you do exactly and why do you carry around a pitchfork?" "I'm King of Atlantis and it's called a Trident, it was King Atlan's." "Atlantis? I thought that was just a myth?" Lois asks. "No, it's completely real, all underwater of course, but it's the second most beautiful place I've ever seen," Valery says. "What's the first place?" Lois asks. "Our Kryptonian Palace made of Crystals." Valery smiles imagining the Palace in her head. "I remember, it was extremely beautiful, especially when the sun rose and it hit the Crystals," Clark says. Lois looks at Arthur, "So you're telling me the entire existence of Atlantis has been real since its downfall?" Arthur nods, "Yes, but no mortal has ever seen it since it sank, the depth it fell to would crush a mortal before they reach it." "Wait, so if you're King of Atlantis does that mean my daughter will rule beside you as you're Queen?" "No, Mrs. Kent, Valery doesn't want the throne. My ex-girlfriend will rule beside me as Queen of Atlantis." "Your ex-girlfriend, I'm sorry but that doesn't seem right to me." "Ma, I can't stay in Atlantis forever. I need sunlight, remember?" "Yes, of course, I remember." "I'll be his Queen, but I won't rule as Queen of Atlantis. As much as I want to, I can't. So, we agreed that Mera will rule beside Arthur as Queen of Atlantis." Martha nods. "Well, there is one possible way you can rule as my Queen." Arthur pipes up, and everyone's heads turn toward him. "What?" Valery asks. "I've been talking to my mother and she said that Poseidon can grant his followers aquatic-like abilities." "Are you serious Arthur?" Clark asks. Arthur nods, "Yes." "Don't think you're going to take my baby girl from me, Mr. Curry," Martha says. "I'd love that, but I still won't rule with you as Queen." "Why not?" "I'm not dealing with Mera's rage again." "Will you at least consider it?" Arthur asks, Valery nods. An hour later, dinner concludes. "Thank you for this, Ma." "Oh baby, you're welcome." Martha hugs Valery, and Valery hugs back. "I'll call you tomorrow, I love you Ma," Valery says, pulling away. "I love you, baby." Valery walks out of the house with Arthur. "Want a ride back?" Valery nods, "Yeah, I wanna talk to you about what you said."

Once in the truck, Arthur begins the two-hour drive back to the city. "You said you wanted to talk." "I do, I want to rule Atlantis with you...but I'd be giving up my life here." "You don't have to give up your like here." "I don't?" Arthur shakes his head, "I come and go as I please." Valery nods, "But you don't stay away long." "I don't." "See, I'd have to come back." Arthur thinks for a moment. "Hey, when's the last time you were exposed to direct sunlight?" Arthur asks. "About a week ago, I just like to stay inside and read. Why do you ask?" "I just remember you telling your mom that you need Sunlight. I don't want you to get weak on me, Superwoman." Arthur says with a smirk. "Don't worry, I'll be fine, Aquaman." Suddenly a Tsunami crashes down on Arthur's truck, Arthur dives out of the truck as it rolls into the waves. "VALERY!!" Arthur yells out diving into the Tsunami after her, pulling her from the truck he lays her down on the ground. "Valery. Wake up," Arthur says looking at Valery who's soaking wet, and not responding. Mera appears in front of the two. "Get away from her, Mera!" Mera kneels beside Valery, "I want to help her." "No, you don't, you hate her!" Arthur says, pushing on Valery's chest trying to draw the water out of her lungs. "Arthur, please let me help her." "No, Mera!" Arthur breathes into Valery's mouth, then continues the chest compressions. Valery gurgles up the water before coughing. Arthur stops and holds Valery close to him, "I thought I'd lost you." "You're not getting rid of me that easily," Valery says, her voice raspy from coughing. Arthur stands up, picking Valery up bridal style and he carries her from the tide before placing her on her feet. With his blood boiling, Arthur faces Mera, "Why do you have to be so jealous of her?! She relinquished the throne and gave it to you, the throne you wanted and this is how you repay her?!" "I'm sorry, I've been selfish." "Yeah, you have been." "Is she going to be okay?" "She will be, once I convince her to come to see Poseidon with me." "Poseidon? What's he have to do with this?" Mera asks. "I'm going to ask him if he can grace Valery with some aquatic powers, that way I can have my Queen. Who knows if you piss her off enough, she might just change her mind and rule beside me as Queen." "No! I'm the Queen of Atlantis, not her!!" Mera says before diving into the Tsunami as the waters go back to normal and Arthur's truck is back in the middle of the road. Arthur walks back to the truck helping Valery inside, before getting inside himself. "Change of plans, you're not going home. We're going to the Lighthouse, you need to regain your energy. The sun will be rising soon, I want you to get the rays soaked up." "Arthur, I'm not going to Atlantis with you, I can't." "You can have both things, Valery, I promise. Just come see Poseidon with me, you won't regret it." Valery sighs but nods, "Alright," She says as she shivers, Arthur turns on the heat warming the cab of the truck. Valery leans against Arthur and quickly falls asleep.
