Caleb's Point Of View
Let Me - Zayne
After school, I had to attend basketball practice and when I got there, the couch called me to his office, announcing to me that the team was going to play a basketball and football in Mexico, in two weeks, and that I was in charge of making sure that everyone paid for the their bus ticket. The idea of driving with my own car then popped up in my head, and taking my boyfriend with me, and maybe a few of my best friends could drive with me. Right a day crazy of announcing the exciting news to the team, I drove home on my own, listening to the very special playlist JJ made me, and when I finally got home, before I went up to my room, I quickly asked my mom's ware drop stylist to pick myself an outfit for me from my closet, for my meeting with JJ's parents.
<me> : Hey babe, just returned from basketball practice and I might have news that would cheer you up;))
Then, usually he'd reply to my texts less than fourth five seconds but, that day, his reply came through after more than two minutes and it was just....
<jordan> : Hey.
"One word answer?" I asked myself. Then, when I got the idea of calling him and finding out what he was up to or what was going on, cause I was really concerned and despised seeing him or hearing him sad and upset, my mom walked in, saw the phone against my ear and mimicked that she'll be quiet, it was also the time when Jordan answered his phone.
"Hey baby" I greeted him with a sad tone.
"Hi Caleb" and even though he tries to hide it from me, I heard a sob.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" I asked, and because of my tone, my mom looked at me concerned and came sitting next to me to hear what was going on, so I put the phone on loud speaker.
"Uhm, its nothing" he sobbed, "I just got in a fight with my dad, he s-said some things that hurt me a little" he whispered softly.
"Can you tell me what he said?"
"He said that, me, actually one of his sons being gay was the last thing he ever expected in our home. He expected all of us to be like Jacob and I might not be such a good influence for Kyle" he cried, "Now I feel a bit...upset, and ashamed" And just when I wanted to say something, my mom asked the phone and without thinking twice, I placed the phone on her palm and, she took it off loud speaker and stepped into my closet, but I could still hear her speak, "Jordan, you have nothing to feel ashamed of. That's just normal for a day to suspect that, even my husband had to take some time to process and accept Caleb's sexuality and he did. Everything's gonna be fine and just know that if you need some time away from home, you're welcome in our home, but I suggest that you ignore those words and focus on your beautiful future with Caleb" then there was complete silence. I fell back on my bed and sighed in stress and anxiety. If it was someone my age or even my friends who said things to hurt Jordan, my fist will be doing their jobs, but since its his dad, there was nothing I could do. For the first time my entire life, I felt disappointed that my partner has such an awful day. Since the dull emotions and one word answers, which he still hadn't told me about, to his dad giving him some insecurities. Anyway, my mom returned from my closet with the phone already hung up, and handed it over to me.
"Thanks mommy" I teased her and she ruffled my sweaty locks.
"You're welcome, now let's focus on that outfit for tonight"
