Jordan's Point Of View
2 Weeks Later
Today, was her funeral and as I carried her coffin, my heart dropped into the deepest part of my stomach and grew a massive lump in my throat, but no tears could run from my eyes. I was in mood but despair and sadness. The more I stayed in my room, laying on my bed in silence, my head filled it's self with the idea of committing suicide, but also how my remaining family will react when it's done. Plus I've been doing nothing but ignoring Caleb's calls and texts and avoiding his presence, even at school. Actually, I've been avoiding everyone in my life. So, Maddie thought that it was finally the thousandth chance to give her bait to Caleb and rail him in. But that never happened. Anyway, as the coffin was positioned upon the hole in the ground, I stood behind my dad, leaning with my chin on his shoulder and scanning for any familiar faces among the huge audience. And when I looked behind us, there stood Caleb with his friends, they all wore a full mourning outfit, except for Caleb. He wore a classic Armani shirt; with black skinny jeans and dark sunglasses. As his hands was tucked in his pockets, he looked hotter than every other guy at Lana's funeral, and if I wasn't so depressed, I would've been turned on. The funeral went passed real quick and after everyone had a hand in filling her hole, I went sitting in the car, waiting for my family to finish talking to Lana's.
Then I was startled by the sudden knocks on my window and according to the reflection on my phone's screen, I could see that it was Caleb, and I knew that he was gonna go on about how how sorry he is for Lana's death.
After a while, he decided on calling me but I just ignored it all."Hey man, is everything okay?" I then recognized Jacob's voice.
"Yeah, I'm just trying to talk to Jordan, but he's literally ignoring me" said Caleb.
"He's probably going through some depression or trauma, but you can always sent his messages to me, and I'll tell him" Jacob suggested
"No, it's fine" Caleb declined, "It's way too personal"
"Cool, then you'll just have to wait till this whole thing has passed over and we have our Jordan back" Jacob said.
"That's the thing actually, it's impossible to get over someone's death. My grandpa was my best friend and when he died I was mess. No one gets over someone's death, you just learn to live with the hole he or she left when they passed" Caleb said.
"Smart words young man" Jacob chuckled, and then my dad; Cynthia and Kyle arrived. "Hi Mrs Bailey and Mr Sighcaster, hey Kyle" Caleb starred greeting them and they did the same to him.
"Are you coming over for dinner tonight?" my dad asked friendly.
"Uh, no sir, thanks for the invitation but, I think I'll just give Jordan a few days to recover, then I'll visit" Caleb said.
"Perfect, we have to go actually, we'll see you again okay?" my dad say, "Keep in touch okay?"
"Yes Mr Sighcaster" he said and then my dad climbed into the car, but first. "Jordan, I know you want to be alone right now and you don't want to talk to me, I don't need you to respond on my text messages, I just need you to read them, please. I miss you so much. And I love you with my whole heart. I'll see you around okay?" he said while testing his finger tips on the window, then left.
"Aww, he's so cute" Cynthia said, "You know you can't ignore everyone in your life, who cares and love you because of Lana"
"You keep your mouth shut, you're not my mom"
The whole car went silent. Very very silent. I heard it in my dad's breathing that he was about to explode and rain down on me. "This will be the second and last time I'll say it, Lana's death shocked us all, but it doesn't mean we should lose respect for one another and if I heard one of you do disrespect each other again, there will be serious consequences" my dad warned us. Then we went home.
