"Hi Cynthia" I greeted her as I walked through the door, from a long day of school and being seduced by Caleb's soft whispers in my ear when we were in Mr Turner's class. When Mr Turner wasn't in class, cause he was called to the reception, Caleb did the weirdest thing ever. He whispered in my ear, how much he worked out the day before, and then he took my hand off my thigh and placed it on his. Announcing that it was leg day. I tried not to be freaked out by it, but when Mr Turner came back, I snatched my hand off his leg and accidentally hit Caleb in his balls. Yet, he tried not to show it to the rest of the class, cause we might end up in the principle's office, and then it the suspension book. Then my dad would've killed me.

Anywho...

"Hey JJ, how was school?" she asked

"It was good" I said as I started to hunt the fridge for food, "Nothing's new"

"Are you sure, you seem like you're glowing" she said as she folded her arms and looked like she was trying to figure something out about me. It was a little uncomfortable, I thought of telling her about my date with Caleb.

"Uhm, I actually have a date tonight" I murmured.

"That boy who was here...on Saturday?" Caleb was obviously her first guess, cause the time that we've spent together was countless. Actually it wasn't, it just felt like, whenever he's present, the moment could last forever.

"Yeah" I nodded

"I'm so happy for you" she pulled me in for a hug, "Wait, does your dad know?"

"Nope, he's coming home in an hour so, I'll just tell him then" I said as I backed up towards the stairs. And when my foot touched the first stair, the door opened and my dad walked in, greeting everyone with a smile and announcing that his day was cut short cause if some electrical problem.
I then looked at Cynthia, and her eyes practically begged me to stick to my promise.

"Dad, I have something to tell you" I started as I went back to the counter.

"What is it son?"

"I have a...date-" I murmured and he almost bit my head off, "What?! You have a date?! With who?" he yelled of shock.

"Uhm...with C-Caleb" I finally said.

"Okay, are you asking me to go in a date or are you telling me that you're going without any permission needed?" he asked, sounding as if he 100% disapproved.

"I mean, do I-, can I go on a date with Caleb tonight?" I asked as I rolled my eyes. And because of it, his answered tore my body, mind and soul into billions of pieces.

"NO"

"What?" I asked, and surprisingly Cynthia did too.

"You're not going on that date, it's Monday" he demanded, "You have school tomorrow. No is my final answer" and he went upstairs to his room. I looked back at Cynthia and she was just as shocked as I was, and slowly my eyes watered up and a lump grew in my throat. I then grew the strength to say "Fine" and swallowed my pain and went up to my room. I threw my backpack down on the floor and I dropped into my bed. As I silently cried into my sheets, I heard Jacob and Kyle trying their best to convince my dad to allow me to go on the date. If went on for a while, until there was dead of silence and foot thuds up the stairs. My door suddenly opened and something tapped on my ankle, which was hanging off the bed. I refused to roll over and face him cause I was really mad and shattered. "Fine, if you want to go on this date with Caleb, you can go" he sighed. I slowly revealed my bloodshot eyes to him and saw how he was holding his head down and resting his hands on his hips. "I'm sorry, I handled it wrong" he said and almost instantly, I jumped off the bed to give him a hug and say thank you.

"Thanks dad" I whispered.

"I just don't want you to get hurt" he then wrapped his arms around me.

"I won't" I promised him.

"Okay boys, what do you say, we break into your closet?" I heard Cynthia said and I laughed.

"I'm gonna leave you to it" my dad said and excused himself.

"Look JJ, I'm not your biological mother, but I want you to you, as much as I love your dad, I love you and your brother" Cynthia said as we both stared at my reflection in the mirror.

"We love you too Cynthia" I said and gave her a hug.

During that moment, I got a message from Caleb...

I'm outside.
