Jordan's Point Of View
As I crumbled up in front of my bedroom's door, I heard my dad trying to comfort me with his words, from the other side. Saying how she's in a much better place and she's happier. As I sat there, I realized that, no matter who young and innocent you are, when its your turn, you can't refuse or fight it. The only thing that brought me happiness that day, was the fact that she didn't suffer from any pain, but died the second she broke her neck. My heart was bleeding; the lump felt as if someone had grabbed onto my neck and ripped my throat from mu body, that's how much my pain was. I finally stopped crying and opened the door for my dad. "Hey" he murmured, and gave me a hug. Later we were on our way to Lana's family and as we drove, the most depressing thoughts shot up in my head, like: mom took a large piece from me when she died and now the only person I could tell everything and anything about myself, the one I could go and cry to also died. So, why am I still alive? There's nothing left for me here on earth. I then looked down at my pulse and saw how the blood pumped through my veins according the beat of my heart. Then out of nowhere, Jacob grabbed onto my wrist and whispered, "Don't do it, I'm begging you"
"I don't know what you're talking about" I quickly lied and took his arm mine. "Why are you crying anyway?'
"She was my friend too, you know" he said, "And she was carrying my baby"
"What?" Everyone asked in shocked, even the car stopped immediately.
"Yeah, we've been dating of two years now, I didn't tell any of you cause we wanted a private relationship" Jacob admitted. My parents started asking continuous questions and really started to forget where we're going and why and so, I was uncontrollably annoyed.
"Can we just go already?!" I yelped. "I am really not in the mood for listening to your God boring conversation" They all stared at in shock.
"Jordan, we're all shocked and sad about Lana's death, but it doesn't mean we should lose respect for one another" my dad said, in a demanding tone and then we continued our drive to Lana's family. When we finally got there, I instantly climbed out if the car, and headed to the front door. The house was surrounded by loads of crying teenagers, all around my age.
"Hey, is Mrs and Mr Johnson inside?" I asked one if them.
"Yeah, they're inside" she said. Even though the door was already open, I still knocked and found Mr Johnson sitting on a little chair by the door, with bloodshot eyes and his eyelids was slightly swollen from crying.
"Mr Johnson?" I first said.
"Hey, Jordan" he softly greeted me, standing up and giving a long and tight hug.
"I'm so sorry for your loss" I murmured softly as we separated, then he greeted my dad, and while they were busy, I tried to recognize Mrs Johnson among the other ladies, when I finally did, I walked up to her and told her the same what I told Mr Johnson.
"Awe, I'm just so glad to see you here today" she wiped the tears off her cheeks and tried to put on a smile, which she succeeded to do. I then positioned myself against the wall and listened to what my dad had to say, expressing the experience he had with mom's passing and encourage then that the wound that Lana's death caused, will never ever heal, but we should learn to live with it. And after his speech, a family member of hers asked who I was and what relationship I shared with Lana, and that's when both Mrs and Mr Johnson jumped in, starting to share the sweet memories Lana and I shared; the good things Lana had to say about me when I wasn't present and how she was pissed that I couldn't make it to her 16th birthday. If you should know, I was at a family gathering. But anyway, as they spoke, those memories started playing as a movie in my mind, causing me to burst out in tears and clinged onto my dad.
"So, to the Johnson's, we just came to pay our respects and our condolences. You received bad news and sadness, so the next news can only be good and I hope it fills the crater that Lana, left when she died" was my dad's last words, "But we better head home"
"Thank you Brad, for everything" Mr Johnson thanked my dad and off we went.
On our way home, the car was really silent...
We arrived back home, and as soon as the door was unlocked, I ran up to my room and cried myself to sleep.
