"Now, students, how would we find the value of this angle here, with the given side at 37 centimeters?" The maths professor at Asheigh's school paced in front of the electronic board at the front of the room, where a right triangle within a circle was projected. The classroom remained quiet, with no sounds except the tapping of pencils on tables, and the scratching of graphite on paper. "Ashleigh?"

"Yes?" Ashleigh perked up, and took her head out of the doodles in her notebook.

"What method did you use to solve for the unknown side?"

"Oh! Right. Um..." Ashleigh flipped through the pages in her notebook, and looked up and down from the problem on the board to the notes on her paper. "I used the coordinates of the point right there, and calculated the hypotenuse and the side opposite to the angle, and then I used the inverse of sine to to find the measure of the angle."

"That's good." The professor scribbled the notes on the board based on what Ashleigh told him. "So after today, we're going to start working with cosine, and then we're going to put these on coordinate grids." The class let out a simultaneous groan, and the professor chuckled as he picked up a pile of papers.

"Why do we have to graph everything in this class?" One girl from the back of the room asked. The rest of the class mumbled in agreement, and Ashleigh eagerly looked up at the clock that hung above the door.

"Well, Algebra 2 is all about analyzation, and reviewing the concepts you learned in Geometry and Algebra 1. Here, we take those concepts and go more in depth..." As the professor droned on about why the kids were required to take the course, and graph practically everything that they learned, Ashleigh zoned off, and began to draw on her notebook. Though she always found herself drawing and doodling in her notebook, Ashleigh was no artist. She hated the way that all of her drawings turned out, and only doodled as a way to pass the time.

As the professor finished handing out the homework to that last few students in the class, the end of class bell sounded, and dismissed all of the eager students. Ashleigh stuffed all of her papers and pencils into her tote bag before she rushed out of the classroom, not far behind the rest of the kids. Ashleigh took out her phone and sent a quick text to the group chat.

Ashleigh: where are you guys???????

Luke: almost at the stairwell babe x

Calum: wtf how i just left the classroom

Michael: im at my locker getting money

Ashleigh: k see you guys soon

She exited iMessages and scrolled through her apps as she walked through the hallway, careful not to bump into any people in her way. Realizing how long it had actually been since she had posted to her venting account on Instagram, Ashleigh opened the app, and switched from her personal account to her venting account. As she reached the top of the stairwell, Ashleigh sat down and took a quick photo of her barely noticeable thigh gap before standing up and slowly making her way down the stairs. She stopped walking and typed in a caption to her post.

@exhxustxd: theres literally been no progress. my thighs still touch, and im never going to be able to reach my goal at this rate. wish me luck guys, because i might have to stop eating altogether lmao #mia#ana#sad#sick#stopeating#toofat

Ashleigh posted the photo and continued down the stairs, occasionally looking up from her phone to see if she spotted Calum anywhere. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs with no sight of the boys, Ashleigh leaned against the wall and opened back up the group chat.

Ashleigh: u said u were nearby but where are you

"Hey Leigh!" Ashleigh heard a familiar voice call out. She looked up from her phone to see Calum walking toward her with two tall boys behind him. She stood up straight and smiled, as her eyes met his. He smiled a corny smile, and Ashleigh began to feel a little bit better inside, a little bit happier. Calum wore a black Green Day t-shirt that showed off his muscled, tanned, and tattooed arms. Black skinny jeans covered his long, muscular legs like a second skin. Ashleigh smiled to herself as she noticed that black Vans on his feet, and looked down to see a similar pair on her own.

"Hi Calum, how are you?" Ashleigh drifted away from the wall and walked toward Calum, and the two boys who she assumed were his bandmates.

"Oh, I'm doing great. Leigh, I want you to meet my friends Michael and Luke." Calum gestured to the two in turn. Both of his friends were attractive, no doubt about it.

Luke, on Calum's left, was the tallest of them all. He had piercingly blue eyes that matched his fair complexion, and dirty blonde hair. His hair was messily swept over the side of his face in a fringe hairstyle that seemed to be popular among teenage boys. Like Calum, Luke wore black skinny jeans and a band tee, Blink-182 rather than Green Day, and had a pair of all black Converse on his feet.

On the other side of Calum was Michael, who stood an inch or two above Calum, and had smurf-blue hair. His blue hair made Michael's shining green eyes appear to be an ocean turquoise, and all of the color on him stood out against his pale, translucent skin. Michael also had on a pair of black skinny jeans, but instead wore a black Metallica muscle shirt, and black combat boots on his feet.

"So you're the infamous Luke?" Ashleigh tilted her head to the left and took a few steps toward the boys. Luke smiled at Ashleigh, and discreetly sent her a wink, which failed to go unnoticed by Michael.

"Chill, Lucifer. No one likes you mate. She said infamous, not famous." Michael rolled his eyes and walked up toward Ashleigh, who laughed in agreement.
