"So where exactly did you guys want to go to eat?" Ashleigh asked as she and the boys walked out of the school through one of the back doors. Michael put a stone in between the door and the frame so that the door would be propped open when they got back. He made sure the stone was big enough that the door wouldn't crush it, but small enough that the door wouldn't look open from a distance.

"What about Subway?" Calum suggested. Ashleigh nodded in agreement, as Subway had been deemed the healthiest fast food chain, but Luke wasn't quick to let his opinion be passed.

"I want to go to Macca's. They're right down the road anyway. We're going to Macca's guys." Luke stated. He used his long legs and began to stride down the road toward McDonald's, which happened to be in the opposite direction of Subway.

"I wanted to go to Pizza Hut, but was I bossy about it? No. God, Luke needs to hang out with different people, he's so irritating." Michael grumbled. He stalked behind Luke, with Ashleigh and Calum close behind.

Luke opened the door, but didn't hold it behind him. He made his way straight to the register and began to order.

"Hi, welcome to McDonald's, how may I help you?" the cashier said. She forced a smile on as she waited for Luke to tell her his order.

"Hi, I'd like two McChickens, a medium french fry, a chocolate sundae, a large drink, and an apple pie." He stepped back from the register and let Michael tell the employee his order.

"I want a McChicken, a Big Mac, a medium fry, a caramel sundae, an apple pie, and a large drink. Calum what do you want?" Michael moved back to stand by Luke while Calum ordered his food.

"Could I have three McChickens, a medium french fry, a large drink, and an Oreo McFlurry." Calum took some money out of his pocket, and turned to look at Ashleigh. "What about you, Leigh?"

"Um," Ashleigh hesitated as she scanned the menu, and the nutrition facts listed next to each item. "I'd like to have one small cone, and a small fry."

Calum looked at Ashleigh through the side of his eye, and tried to see if there was any obvious reason that she didn't order that much food. Ashleigh looked up at him and mouthed What? since she didn't know why he would be looking at her. Calum shook his head and smiled at her, as he made the mental note to approach her about it later.

Since Luke had forced everyone to come to Macca's, he paid for everyone's lunch, as the others went to find a place to sit. "Here nerds, take your food," Luke said as he shoved Michael and Calum's food in front of them. He put his own food down on the table, at the position across from Ashleigh.

"Rude," Michael grumbled as he sat down next to Luke, and began to eat one of his sandwiches.

"Here you go, babe," Luke handed Ashleigh her food, and placed it in front of her with a smile on his face.

"Thank you," Ashleigh smiled, and took a lick of her ice cream.

"Would you like one of my sandwiches?" Calum asked. He looked over at Ashleigh, and the small amount of food in front of her.

"No, thank you." Ashleigh replied, keeping the big smile on her face. Being around Calum made Ashleigh feel like she had to smile. He was just such a happy person, and his happiness seemed to be contagious Calum shrugged and opened one of the sandwich wrappers, taking a bite. Ashleigh put a french fry in her mouth as she felt her phone vibrate.

The salt of the french fry seemed to burn on Ashleigh's tongue, and the small amount of food began to come up from in her stomach. She scolded herself for ever agreeing to come out for lunch with the boys. She should have expected that she would get carried away and eat something. Ashleigh took a couple licks more of her ice cream cone before she put it down on the tray feeling absolutely disgusted with herself.

Ashleigh had began to take a liking to Michael, Calum and Luke, and she didn't want her dedication to her weight to get in the way of their friendship. Leaving them would ultimately be the best solution to the problem.

"Babe, do you want me to take up your trash for you?" Luke offered, interrupting Ashleigh from her train of thought. He reached for her tray, which contained her partially eaten ice cream, and her untouched french fries.

"Yes please, thank you so much," Ashleigh lifted her tray up toward Luke. Michael and Calum walked back toward the table after disposing of their trash, and held their leftovers in a paper bag. "Hey guys, I'm going to head down to the bathroom." Ashleigh said. She got up from the table and walked away, holding onto her stomach to be sure that the food was still properly settled in her belly.

"Um, yeah, I'll be right back mates," She heard Calum say. Michael and Luke mumbled in agreement, and didn't think much of the two of them leaving. Ashleigh heard Calum's footsteps behind her and began to speed up her pace. Just as she was about to step into the ladies room, Calum's long legs had helped him catch up to her. Ashleigh backed up against the wall, and Calum had his arms on either side of her. "Why aren't you eating, Leigh?"

Ashleigh took in a sharp intake of breath, and looked up at Calum. She trusted him, and she trusted him not to tell anyone, but Ashleigh believed that once you tell one person a secret, you might as well have told everyone.

"That must just have been today. I had a huge breakfast at home today, and I usually just eat breakfast and dinner. You know my mom, she prefers family meals."

"You weren't eating at dinner the other day either," Calum pointed out.

"Like I said, big breakfasts. It's the most important meal of the day." Ashleigh smiled at Calum, but quickly let her head fall to look at the floor.

"I want you to know that you're perfect just the way you are," Calum told her. he pushed more of her hair behind her ear. "Leigh, darling, look at me please."

Ashleigh looked up at Calum, and forced a weak smile onto her face. "Yeah?"

"Wherever you go, I want you to remember to keep your head up, and keep a smile on that pretty little face of yours, alright princess? We can't have your tiara falling off, 'cause I might not always be there to put in back on." Calum held on to Ashleigh, as she struggled to stop herself from crying.

"Thank you so much, Calum." Ashleigh stood up on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around Calum's neck. She buried her head into his neck, and mumbled "thank you" over and over.

"You're welcome," Calum smiled, and delicately placed a kiss to Ashleigh's temple.
