Chapter 37

Third Person

"You have got to be kidding Klaus," Caroline yells at him as they walk down the steps, "She's a gangster."

"I see her as more as friend enemy, she's the only one that can find rare items in such short notice." They reach the bottom of the steps and Klaus smiles at Josephine. "Greetings Josephine, I see you brought company."

"These are my brothers, I don't do business with the supernatural with out them. Guys meet Mr. Mikaelson."

Klaus raises his hand, "Please call me Klaus. All my friends do."

"I don't know if I would call you a friend Klaus but if something is going down in the city I would like to be on the winning side." Josephine opens a briefcase and places stones in Klaus's hand. "I prefer to be on the winning side."

"That's strange," Elijah says and walks forward, "I didn't know she was familiar with our plan."

"What plan?" Caroline states.

"When dealings like this I like to make sure I have full disclosure." Josephine states.

Elijah is on edge, "What does the human faction get out of all of this?"

"I only want to bow to the ruling class. That just so happens to be you. I have heard through the grapevine that Marcel's old crew are the ones that kidnapped your wolves this morning and that they are on their way to the compound very soon. So If you don't mind starting those rings."

"Now aren't be just the busy bee." Klaus says.

"It is my job to know what is going on in this city Klaus. I am worried for my families safety just as you are for yours. I believe for payment of the gems I expect protection."

"So be it, the more bodies the merrier." Klaus smiles.

"Seriously, you two were keeping this from me?" Caroline yells at the Mikaelson brothers as she is wrapping Jackson's wounded arm.

"Caroline we didn't want to worry you, Marcel had leads but none panned out. Now that Miss Josephine confirmed our ideas it is even more important that we get these rings made." Elijah explains to Caroline.

"Yah I get it, this all is to protect the baby but a little more information would have been nice on my part." Caroline explains after finishing up wrapping Jackson's arm.

"Caroline the rings for the wolves are not just for protecting the baby." Jackson starts and Klaus finishes.

"They are for protecting you as well, love." Klaus says and looks Caroline in the eyes. "Like I promised, now I am getting these stones to Genevieve." Klaus exits the room.

"I got to get going before the moon rises." Jackson states. Caroline grabs is arm before he leaves.

"Jackson from the sound of it this will be the last time you will have to turn against your will. I promise it to make sure it happens for you." Caroline states.

"All I want is for you and that baby to be safe."

"Seems like that's everyone's idea these days."

"Well it's true, be safe." Jackson leans offer and kisses Caroline on the check before walking out.

Elijah stands by the door way, "He's a good man Caroline."

"That's why I am so worried Elijah, I don't want Klaus to have that big of hold over him and his pack."

"Let me handle my brother."

Klaus hands Genevieve the stones and she begins preparing the spell. Once done she looks over at Klaus and says, "The last thing I need is the blood of a werewolf that doesn't turn on a full moon, at first I was thinking Caroline since your baby is half werewolf."

Klaus cuts her off, "Out of the question. Caroline is not to be touched by your magic again. Use mine instead." Klaus bits his palm. "Where do you need it."

Genevieve points to the middle of the circle she had made on the table, "I need blood on each of the stones." Klaus grabs Genevieve's arm, "If you do not hold of your end of this deal I will do worst things to you then death. Also never suggest that Caroline give you her blood again. Do we have an agreement."

Genevieve shocks Klaus but not even flinching. "Yes we have an agreement. I know the terms of that."

"Very well." Klaus states and puts his blood on all of the moon stones. Once that is done Genevieve begins to chant. Elijah and Caroline walk in and just as they do Josephine comes walking in as well.

"They are on their way! My brothers are not going to be able to hold Marcel's army."

"What do you mean Marcel's army?" Klaus yells.

"I got word that Marcel is the one that started this power struggle without you even realizing it."

"I will rip him apart for this!" Klaus screams and walks out the door."

"Elijah you better help him," Josephine states.

Elijah looks at Caroline, "I'll keep an eye on her." Josephine states.

"I'll be okay Elijah." Caroline states. With those words Elijah speeds away to where Klaus is standing in the middle of the compound.

Genevieve continues to chant and soon Caroline can hear fighting breaking out. Genevieve finishes her spell and Caroline walks over to her. "Thank you Genevieve, I know this is all for protecting me but these rings will help my friends as well," Caroline reaches out her hand for them but Genevieve steps aside from Caroline and hands them to Josephine.

"Sorry Caroline." Is all Caroline hears before she is brought to ground and blacks out. As she does Genevieve looks nervous and sad.

"Don't be so said honey, we both got what we want." Josephine smiles.
