"New Life, New Enemies, Love"

Chapter 18

Third Person

Klaus comes rushing in to the compound and finds Elijah coming down from Caroline's room.
"Is she okay!"

"Yes she says she is fine. Just hungry." Elijah walks to the kitchen and brings out hamburger.

"For what? A bloody hamburger!?" Klaus asks.

"That's what she said." Elijah continues on but receives a phone call before Klaus can question him anymore.

He realizes it is Rebekah right away, using his heighten hearing Klaus listens in.

"Elijah, I have some news."

"What is it Rebekah we are in the middle of something here."

"The baby isn't dead."

Klaus looks at Elijah questionably.

"Rebekah what did you do?" Elijah switches the phone to his other ear as he continues to make an hamburger for Caroline.

"When Nik sent me away I found my witch friend and had a protection spell put on the baby. I didn't realize it won't save Hayley as well."

"Rebekah this is ridicules, there is no way that the baby survived, Hayley is dead."

"You see Elijah but it's true. The protection spell put on the baby made it magically transport into the next strongest creature that was closest to it."

Elijah shakes his head. "So you are saying the baby is in a werewolf?"

"No a werewolf couldn't handle the power that baby has. It would have needed a stronger host."

Klaus's eyes grow big and he realizes who Rebekah is taking about.

Elijah turns to Klaus, "Are you saying that the baby jumped into Caroline?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying. And it's uncloaked now. Which means soon Caroline will figure it out as well."

With in the two weeks that Caroline had been shutting out the world Cami's uncle had gotten worse and his time was near. Elijah had tried and failed to bring all four factions together: Vampire, Werewolf, Witches, and Humans. Now with Hayley gone, Jackson became the Alpha of the Crest Moon Pack. With Cami's uncle getting weaker by the day a new chairman for the human faction had been appointed. Her name is Josephine Dubi.  She has some tricks up her sleeve just like the witches of New Orleans. Their target was Hayley and her unborn child, per Ester on the other side, in exchange Genevieve could keep her life.

Now on to the present. Once Elijah got off the phone with Rebekah, Klaus and  him had a very heated discussion. Elijah wanted to tell Caroline but Klaus was hesitant. They didn't know if the witch was telling the truth. For all they knew the witch was feeding Rebekah a lie just so she could get away. Klaus's plan to send Caroline away was put on hold and know he has to swift through the last two weeks, for not being there for Caroline and for yelling at her, he knows she is not at all in the mood to see him. If she is truly carrying his child he knows now more then ever that he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

The brothers decide to try one last time to try and make peace between the fractions by hosting a party at the compound tonight, Elijah is of course worried about Caroline and what Klaus could possibly up to, as he always has something going on behind Elijah's back.
