"New Life, New Enemies, Love"

Chapter 48

Third Person

After Caroline sped off Klaus realized that he may had not handled the whole situation right. Caroline was hurting that much was evident but Klaus would deal with that after they took down Josephine. He stormed off to meet with Marcel to insure the plan was in place. 

Klaus returns an hour later, Elijah meeting him at the door. "Marcel play his part?"

"Marcel brought news of the white oak to Josephine, she sent men and a couple of her brothers to check out the building. As soon as he gets the first ring off a finger Josephine will  know as well, she will come." Klaus smiles wickedly. 

"And I get to kill her." The boys turn their heads towards the staircase where Caroline's voice was heard. 

"Yes love, as you wish." Klaus states.

"If that is what will help you." Elijah says. 

Caroline reaches the bottom step, "It will help me more than you know boys. So when is this show starting?"

Klaus looks at Caroline for a second, the sadness that was in her eyes earlier is no longer present. He doesn't have time to respond because just as he is, a wave of power shots through him, the first ring is off. "Now." Is all he gets out, he vamp speeds to his study as he and Elijah had discussed. Leaving Caroline and Elijah.

Elijah looks at Caroline, he to sees something different but can't corner her right now. "Get in the shadows, they will be here any minute."

Caroline smiles while putting her hand to her forehead to salute Elijah before backing into the shadows. 

Twenty plus wolves begin to rush in, Elijah and Caroline waiting for them. With Caroline's humanity off it helps her  control her hybrid strength. Two man go past her, she vamps in front of them. "Hey boys." Then quickly snaps their necks. "This is fun." She wickly smiles as she takes a ring off of  one of their fingers. 

Klaus feels yet another ring gone, his strength coming back. Five more wolves stop when they see Caroline. She sees one has a ring one, "Have I mentioned that I've had a rotten couple of months?"  With the last word out of her mouth her eyes glow yellow and veins begin coming around her eyes. Another ring down. While Caroline takes care of the the rest of the wolves at the compound. Elijah begins his way towards Josephine's house. 

Just as Caroline is about to leave to head after Elijah she steps in front of Ollie. Without even a second to think, Caroline punches him in the face. Brings her knee up that connects with his face. When he is off balance she grabs his arm, bringing it around his back, she pins his face forward into the brick wall. "Hey Ollie. How are you."

"Fuck you!" 

"You willing shouldn't have said that, it really hurt my feelings. You think your strong because you wear that ring? You're wrong. You're nothing." She brings him to his knees. 

"And you think your one of us just because magic turned you into one. All you ever will be is a vampire to the pack."

Caroline laughs while taking the ring off of Ollie's finger. "At least I am not trying to be something I am not. You will never  be alpha."  Caroline lets Ollie go. "If I see you with one of these again. I will kill you on the spot." Caroline steps over Ollie, "Excuse me I need to go kill your leader now."

Elijah had taken out Josephine's scertery very easily. Holding a head in his hand, he rolls it so the front door opens. Josephine and the last of her brothers come around the corner slowly, looking down at the head. Elijah smiles and brings a cloth out of his pocket square of his suit wiping his hands. 

"It's fine. He can't come in." Josephine tells her pack.

"Can't I?" Elijah states. Josephine smiles.

"Don't bluff me. You can't win. Is Caroline gone yet? She really was a pain" She begins to walk up to the door. Going head to head with Elijah.

"Did you know Al Capone thought himself invincible back in his day. And in the end, he was sentenced to the Alcatraz for which of his crimes? Anyone?" 

Everyone stands silent not knowing the answer, Caroline steps out from the side. Smiling. "A failure to pay his taxes, did I get it right Elijah?" Caroline bats her eyelashes. 

Elijah churches and Josephine eyes go wide. Elijah continues, "That is correct Miss Forbes." Leaning against the door way Elijah looks past the pack, "My, my, you have a beautiful home here. I was so please the city took my suggestion to protect its heritage status and invoke eminent domain." Josephine's mouth drops and Caroline titles her head. "So I suppose that means, " Elijah points up," this house now belongs to the public and as such, anyone can enter," moving his head looking at each and every member, "without invitation." Taking one smooth step forward Elijah stands inside the house. Caroline close behind.
