Part 2 because you asked and you're all my babies so you ofcourse get what you want xo
---- It's raining like crazy as you're making your way down the New York streets.
After Joey left you in the theater, you decided that you were going to walk home because you needed to be alone to cry. For some reason, the people that also decided to walk outside in this crazy weather don't even look up when you pass them. You're sure that by now your cheeks and eyes are red from crying and mixing that with the rain that's making you soaking wet, it's not a pretty look.
You finally arrive at the apartment and make your way upstairs while tears keep falling down your cheeks, the only thing you can think off is Joey and how you'll never be with him.
When you make your way inside of the apartment, everybody's eyes are immediately on you. You might of have ruined Monica's and Chandler's dinner with his father but when you look around you see that Rachel and Ross are still here, so you don't worry about it that much.
"Was the play that bad?" Ross is the first one to speak.
His words only make you glare over at him and you see how Rachel hits him on the back of the head with the magazine that she was reading. She stands up and makes her way over towards you, you feel how the raindrops are still dripping down your neck from your hair that is soaked and it just makes everything worse.
"Sweetie, what happened?" Rachel asks as she places a hand on your shoulder.
"Life hates me.." you mumble.
She gives you a sympathetic smile and you ignore that and walk over towards the kitchen table, your eyes lock with Monica's and Chandler's for a second before you take a look at Chandler's father. He's awkwardly smiling at you and you give him a weak smile back before taking a hold of the wine bottle that was standing in the middle of the table.
You take a few big swigs from the bottle before sighing deeply and looking around the silent room again to see that everybody's still staring at you.
"What happened? You can tell us." Monica breaks the silence.
"Oh.. Yeah.. Sure, I mean I'm not one to judge." Chandler's father speaks up.
You move yourself over to Rachel and she opens her arms to signal that she is ready to give you a hug. "I don't mind the wet clothes." she mumbles, making you smile softly before walking into her arms.
Tears are rolling down your cheeks again as Rachel holds you close to her while caressing your back.
"He'll never love me." you speak up as you pull back out of the hug.
You take another big sip from the bottle of wine before looking at Rachel, she knows what you're talking about because you have spoken to her about your crush on Joey a lot.
"He does love you." she says.
"Yeah.. As a friend."
"Y/n-"
"No! I'm tired of being just friends with Joey, I'm tired of constantly giving him everything and not getting anything back. I understand that you can't just make a person fall in love with you, but I wish I could because I can't be his friend anymore.. I can't hear him talking about the dates he's getting on, I can't give him advice about dating other girls anymore.."
Rachel looks at you with a pity filled look, "Turn around." she mumbles what makes your stomach drop.
You slowly turn around and can't believe to see him standing there.
Joey.
For a moment, it's totally silent in the apartment. The only thing you can hear are muffled noises that are coming from outside. Your eyes are locked with Joey's and a lonely tear rolls down your cheek as you see how confused, yet, hurt he looks.
"I'm sorry.." you mumble before running past him and out of the apartment.
Before you can make your way downstairs, you're stopped by someone that takes a hold of your arm. You slowly turn around to see that it's Joey, you sigh deeply and look down to the ground because you're embarrassed that he heard all what you said.
"I thought you had a date.." you finally break the silence.
"She canceled." he answers.
You look back up at him and see how he sends you a soft smile, you can only give him a weak one back. He takes a hold of your hand and drags you with him into his apartment because he probably wants a more private conversation.
"I never knew you felt like that." Joey is now the first one to speak up.
You sigh deeply as you put the bottle of wine on the counter next to you. "We were always great friends but then my feelings towards you changed, I'm sorry that I never told you anything but I was to scared." you explain.
"Well.. I wished you told me sooner, I see you as just a friend but I can try to love you as more, I'll do my best because I don't want to lose what we have." Joey says as he takes a few steps closer towards you.
Tears pop up into your eyes as you hear him say that, it shouldn't be like that.. He shouldn't try to love you, he should feel it naturally like you do. You shake your head and grab the bottle of wine back in your hands, you walk closer towards him and look back up into his eyes.
"That's not how love works, Joey." you mumble as a tear rolls down your cheeks.
He cups your face with his hands and it makes you close your eyes so you can enjoy his touch for a second. You open your eyes again and then pull your face away from his hands, making him tears up a little. That only makes you feel worse, you feel like you messed everything up by telling him the truth.
"I'm sorry.." you mumble before making your way out of the apartment.
