Tommy and Lani had both left their weapons on the table next to their bags. That meant Tubbo was the only one armed. He only had a pocket knife however, they were doomed. They knew this person possessed a gun.
"Hello, who's here?" The voice demanded answers. The three of them heard him shuffle around. Then they heard his footsteps walk towards them. "I've got a gun, don't really want to use it." He warned them. Tubbo slowly put his hands up, and looked at the others. Lani raised her hands too, she didn't see any way out of this. Tommy stood in front of them slightly, but didn't raise his hands. He didn't want to be submissive. He had enough of that at the camp he left.
The stranger made it to the living room and they finally got to see him. He was about 5'11 with messy blond hair. His clothes were a little torn, but fairly clean. At least clean compared to everyone else's. He raised his gun to them until he realized they were so young. "Uh...you're children." He pointed out the obvious.
Tommy took it upon himself to be the talker. Even though the other two would of preferred anything else. "Yeah, don't point a gun at us asshole." He growled angrily.
"Drop any weapons you have and I'll put the gun down." He instructed them softly, not wanting to freak out a group of teens. Tubbo was quick to put his knives on the ground. "Is that all?" The stranger asked, and looked at Tommy. "put your hands up please, I don't want to hurt you." He spoke to him politely now. Getting the impression that these were just abandoned kids. He would be right with that assumption. Tommy reluctantly raised his arms for the sake of his friends."What's your names? Are there more of you around here?" He questioned them while slowly lowering his gun. "I'm Tommy, the other two are Toby and Lani. It's just us, we were kicked out of our team." Tommy made sure to give him their real names. He sensed this was a good person, he didn't want to lose trust by lying.
"You can call me Phil...did you take anything?" He wondered. Tommy hesitantly nodded. "well yeah...we ate some soup."
Phil nodded "alright I suppose you could of stole worse. You've ate, I think you can go now." He encouraged them to leave. Tubbo spoke up "we need water too, if you could spare some..."
Phil thought for a second, "Yeah...I could probably give you a drink." He felt bad for them. This person wasn't heartless. He left to get them a glass of filtered water. The three friends huddled together. "Do you think we should just leave quickly after we get the water?" Tubbo asked. "He seems like an alright guy, we could probably stay." Tommy replied. He knew they wouldn't find another shelter without walking forever.
Phil returned and gave them each a cup of water. They quickly gulped it down. They felt so much better after. "Thank you!" Tubbo and Lani spoke at the same time. Tommy handed Phil back the cup. "Hey man...maybe we could stay awhile." He smiled at Phil, hoping to convince him to let them stay. Tommy was disappointed by Phil's response. "Sorry buddy, I can't. Me and my partner do this thing alone. We don't have the resources to take care of you three."
Tubbo handed back his cup. "Partner? Do you mean your wife? I noticed the wedding photo." He smiled brightly, wanting to stay on this new person's good side.
Phil laughed and shook his head. "No, he's not my wife. My wife...um..." Phil trailed off. Tubbo felt bad for bringing up a sensitive subject. "Sorry sir...I just thought it might be your wife." He genuinely apologized.
"It's alright I should of worded it differently. I meant more like...Partner in crime." He corrected himself. Tommy put his arm around Tubbo. "This is my partner in crime. We stab people and shit." He bragged falsely. Phil raised a brow at him, but didn't take him seriously. Tubbo pushed Tommy away. "Tommy! This isn't the time to make those jokes.""Well you better get going." Phil walked to the kitchen and waited for them to leave. They sighed sadly and made their way to collect their belongings off the table.
