Puffy was ready to help as soon as she came, even though there wasn't a lot she could do. For issues like this the only thing that anybody could do is CPR. It wasn't like they could just go to the emergency room.
"You need to stay calm." Puffy put her hand on Tubbo's shoulder. A panic attack would only make it harder to breath, and Puffy didn't want to risk losing another life. She had failed to save so many people.
Tubbo kept trying to breath, but it felt so difficult. Like his lungs weren't strong enough to give him the oxygen he needed. It was hard not to panic, he was shaking in fear. He wasn't ready to die yet, with a sister that needed him. Sure Tommy could be there for her, but Tubbo and him had already established a suicide pact. They were going down together.
"I think he's starting to have panic attacks, and that's what's making his breathing so much worse." Puffy said to Tommy who was standing next to her. "Here, chest compressions are a very important thing to learn how to do. Especially now, there will be a lot of times where CPR is the only medical care someone can get. I'll show you, it'll improve his breathing if we're lucky."
"Alright...I'm watching." Tommy didn't care to learn the skill, he just wanted Tubbo to feel better.
Puffy did the chest compressions while telling Tommy advice on how to do it.
Tubbo gasped and coughed. After a moment his breathing became a bit easier. He didn't feel like he was actively suffocating anymore.
"You alright man?" Tommy asked his best friend.
Tubbo nodded slightly and coughed a couple more times.
"I might have something I can give him, but it'll take me a minute to find it..." Puffy was talking to herself, but Tommy listened. She left to see if there was anything else she could do.
Tommy sat by Tubbo, and sighed. "Not allowed to die, remember?"
"M-mhm." Tubbo was slowly gaining control over his breathing again. Even though it was still not back to a healthy state.
"And if you do, I'm going to hell to drag you back here." Tommy threatened.
"Fu-ck you-" Tubbo mumbled at Tommy for implying he would go to hell. If it even existed.
Puffy couldn't find any medicine to give him, so the rest of the day was spent in paranoia. Puffy must have checked on him at least 100 times. Even though Tommy was with him the whole day. She also checked on the youngest tubbling, who didn't seem to be suffering as much. Lani just had a cough and if she tried to do too much she found it hard to breathe.
"I'm going to go insane..." Puffy said to Sam, as she was about to switch lookout shifts with him.
"Stop checking on him, Tommy will let you know if anything changes." Sam assured her.
"I know, it's just not that simple. Everyone I've ever been in charge of caring for, has died."
Sam sighed and shook his head. "There's not much you can do. You've tried to save everyone that's ever needed you. Plus, you haven't failed EVERYONE. Skeppy's still here, I'm still here. You helped Tommy when he first came here."
Puffy looked down and took a second to think about it. "Yeah...yeah I guess I've saved a few people."
"Stop worrying, and do your best." Sam went off to rest now.
The night seemed longer than normal, though that was impossible. Puffy stayed up and made sure nothing or no one stumbled along their base. Eventually she got tired and went to Skeppy, who she was supposed to swap shifts with.
