Brent didn’t want the young girl to go off without something for her. She talked to Bill, very quietly, while the band decided they would get lots of pictures for her. No one else had come out, for the time being, so they had quite a lot of time they could give her. Bella suddenly got shy as they walked towards the towering Jake.

Barry was watching as the young woman interacted with his band mates. The thick southern accent wasn’t like everyone else he’d heard lately. There was a sweetness to her voice, almost an innocence to it. He wanted to know more about her! Zach ogled over the “adorable children” making Bella blush.

Kinsey never really had any time for herself so she didn’t have celebrity crushes like a lot of young women her age. She could appreciate someone’s beauty but didn’t just fall over herself because someone was attractive. When they finally made their way down to where Barry were sitting, she suddenly felt herself developing an instant crush. Everyone were very nice to her and her siblings.

The tour manager, Jake, finally asked more about her father and his health. With a deep breath, she told them about his accident which put him in a wheel chair. Hearing what this young woman explained made Brent a bit sad. It also made him want to help her any way he could. She was too young to be in the position she was in!

As she was talking with Jake and Bill, and trying to keep the two children from getting into anything they shouldn’t, Barry and Brent took all the fruit they had brought into the bus. Barry sliced up one of the Cantaloupes. His eyes went wide when he took the first bite. She wasn’t kidding when she told them it was the sweetest, juiciest fruit he’d ever eaten! Brent had put the rest on a plate for them to take to the rest of the band and their managers.

“Hey, guys! We cut up one of the cantaloupes they brought us! Come have a taste!” Brent exclaimed with a wide grin

“Oh man!” Eric stated, “These are really sweet! What’s your secret? The ones we pick up at Wal-Mart don’t taste like this!”

Kinsey shyly smiled with a slight blush, “Family secret.”

Eric smiled warmly at the young lady making her look away. Barry wanted to talk to her about her family’s farm and getting a steady supply of fresh fruits and vegetables from them. She was shocked to hear what he said! They took lots of pictures before Bill told them it was time to go. Barry and Brent asked for her email address which she happily gave. She knew she’d probably never hear from them again but what the hell, right? Bill even asked for her home address so that he knew where to send money when Barry wanted some good fruits and vegetables!

She made sure to fetch the wagon as the kids were getting hugs from the band. There was a bag sitting in the wagon that she hadn’t brought with her. Her cell rang and when she looked at the caller ID she discovered it was Daisy’s school. Apparently she had gotten ill at school and she needed to be picked up. She bid the group goodbye after Bill asked her what was wrong. They gave her tight hugs before she left with the two small children.

Kinsey was worried about what Daisy could have caught at school. She hadn’t heard of any bugs going around. When she arrived, she headed straight to the office with the two smaller children. The school nurse gave her all the pertinent information about what was going on with her little sister before she was allowed to sign the child out for the day. Kinsey immediately called the family doctor to make an appointment. Luckily they had an opening that afternoon.

Just her luck, Daisy had a rather nasty stomach bug! When she finally came home with the children, and doing her best to keep Daisy away from the other three, she got the sick child settled in bed before checking on her father. He was a bit grumpy and was wanting his dinner. Kinsey sighed as she walked into the kitchen to prepare dinner for everyone. She had frozen a batch of homemade chicken and dumplings so she thought that would be good for supper. As it was heating up in the big pot, she went to check on her sick sibling.

Later that evening, to her surprise and horror, Kinsey’s mother made a surprise visit. Her father was getting ready for bed and all the children were already asleep. She was cleaning up the house as best as she could before trying to get in a little studying before bed.

“Kinsey! Come take this kid. Been crying for two hours now. Where’s your dad?” Her mother stated, holding out a crying infant to her

The young woman took the small child as her mother pushed past her to head upstairs. Kinsey sighed heavily as she swayed from side to side in an attempt to calm the child down. Luckily they still had some of the younger children’s baby stuff! The other children were asleep already but they wouldn’t be for long the way her parents were now fighting!

Kinsey was still standing in the living room when her mother stormed out of the house followed closely by her father. Their heated argument got the baby to crying once more making Kinsey sigh in desperation. It was hard enough taking care of four children, looking after her dad, running the farm, AND trying to go to school. But now having an infant too?! This was almost too much.

Half an hour later and her Dad wheeled himself back into the house. He looked at Kinsey, who was nearly in tears, and gave her a sad smile.

“Sweetie, it looks like we’ve just inherited another child. Your mother says she’ll be back in a few days but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that.” He stated before making his way to the stair case, “Kinsey…….. You’re a good girl. See you in the morning.”

She watched her father use the electronic lift to take him upstairs in silence. The baby was starting to settle down again, thankfully! She laid him on a blanket on the floor while she went to get some of Hayden’s baby things.
