After lunch Eric paid the bill while Kinsey got the kids back to the SUV. Jesse was excited to find out where they were going next. As Eric slid into the driver’s seat, he told the children he was sure they were going to like where he was taking them next. Of course they had the rest of the day as well as all day tomorrow but he wanted to pack as much time with them as he could while they were here. He wanted to show the kids a good time and give them good memories of their childhood. Daisy got excited when she saw the sign for The Marble Kids’ Museum. Kinsey could only smile at their enthusiasm.
Bella and Hayden were going crazy seeing all the stuff they could touch and play with and see. Kinsey just laughed at the children before reading to them what this place was about. ”At Marbles Kids Museum we believe that children learn best through play and discovery. Our exhibits and programs are designed to build imagination through self-led exploration of new ideas and experiences.”. Daisy asked if they could go exploring so Kinsey gave them the go-ahead. Lane started getting fussy at being cooped up in the stroller so Eric took him out and held the squirmy boy in his arms.
Kinsey was taking pictures of the children as they explored the museum. She wanted them to have good memories, not all about escaping their mother and what she had put them through, to look back and think of times like they were having now with Eric. She got a few good pictures of Eric with the kids at the museum too. With a half-smile, she realized she’d have to sit down and scrapbook this for the kids! They stayed for close to two hours before Eric suggested they head off to another adventure. Lane had already been put back in the stroller because he’d fallen asleep.
The next place he took them too was a place called Winterpast Farm. Jesse pouted at the thought of visiting a farm. They were used working on their farm back in Texas and getting the land ready for farming at their new home. The kids were completely surprised to discover they were going to get to feed animals and hold some baby animals while they were here! Farmer Mary met them at the gate, as Eric expected, with food for each animal.
They were able to feed and pet a llama, a pony, emu, goats, sheep, pigs and other animals. The boys were more than excited to get to pet the pigs and llamas but the girls weren’t as excited. They were more excited to meet and hold baby chicks, bunnies, and the cute little pigs. Eric and Kinsey were both taking photos of the kids, and each other, and generally enjoying the time they were getting with the children. Hayden and Bella were tugging on Eric’s leg, which made him laugh, as they wanted to show him some feather’s they had found. Kinsey was holding Lane while he tried to pet a sheep.
Daisy took Kinsey’s phone so she could try and get photos of her big sister and littlest brother together with the animals. The boy was a bit skittish around the bigger animals but Kinsey soothingly told him it would be ok as she took his hand and reached out to pet them. He giggled like mad when he did which made Kinsey smile. Jesse was petting the llama and emu again when Eric walked up with the toddlers.
“Sissy?” Daisy asked quietly
