Kinsey left the room, her head swimming, and ran straight into Eric’s chest. He barely caught her before she fell but in the process wound up inadvertently pushing her against the wall. He was mere inches from her which made his heart speed up. Her body began to tremble slightly both from the intimate contact and from the emotions going through her.

”I’m sorry.” She whispered, staring down at her feet

”I didn’t mean to push you against the wall. I just wanted to keep you from falling.” He whispered, eyes staring at her lips

She swallowed the lump in her throat as she slowly moved her eyes upwards until she was looking him in the eyes. He could see her tearing up and it tore at him. She was so confused about everything. What was she supposed to do? How would she know what to do? Eric leaned forward and pressed his forehead to hers. Taking a deep breath, he pulled away. A minute or so later, Bill and James appeared.

“Why don’t we go to lunch? We have a few more things to discuss and I think getting everything done and out of the way will be best.” Bill stated, squeezing Kinsey’s shoulder affectionately

Kinsey just nodded as Eric asked where he thought they should go. Discussions of where to go for lunch was spent on the walk back to Eric’s car. She slid into the passenger’s seat but remained quiet. The drive was fairly quick, maybe 10 minutes with traffic, and before long she found herself following the others to a small-ish table on the left side of the restaurant. She was sitting across from Eric with Bill on her left side and James on her right. The waitress came over, handed out menus and took their drink orders.

The chatter was quiet as everyone looked over the menu to decide what they wanted. This place was a bit out of her price range but she still had quite a bit of money left out of what Kellie had sent her. The 9oz steak looked really good so she opted for it with a baked potato with cheese, bacon, and chives, and a house salad with ranch dressing. Eric just smiled at her choice. Once everyone had placed their orders, James and Bill got back down to business.

“I’m not trying to force you into anything but I wanted to research all your options. If you wanted to sell your farm I have someone who would love to buy it. The economy is pretty decent where you live, there’s enough acreage, and everything is set up just perfectly. The buyer, and I did tell him that you selling it wasn’t a guaranteed deal, but the buyer is offering $500,000 for your farm.” Bill stated

Kinsey choked on the sweet tea she was drinking! That’s more money than she’d ever thought about seeing in her lifetime! Her expression made Eric chuckle and James smile.

“That…. Oh man.” Kinsey stuttered, “Where we would live if I sold it? That’s our home! What would we do with everything?”

This was Eric’s chance!

“With that amount of money, you could find a new home anywhere you wished to go. I’m sure Eric and the guys would help you with the move. My suggestion would to be, that is if you did sell, is to move closer to people who can help you.” Bill stated

There was so much to think about! First her dad and now this offer on their farm!

“Well, I do have room in my house. They could stay with me until she found a house she liked. Kellie and I are more than capable of helping with the kids and would love to have them around.” Eric stated with a warm smile

“Oh I couldn’t ask you to do that!” Kinsey exclaimed, looking over at the tall bassist

“Nonsense! It’s a bit…. lonely…. and quiet in that house with it just me there. It would my pleasure to have you all stay there with me.” Eric retaliated
