She took her phone from Daisy as she led the younger girl to her room. It was late and all the kids needed to be in bed. Daisy was quick to bid her big sister good night. She and Jesse remembered both their father and their mother. Although Daisy wished her father was still alive, she also knew that he was in a better place and not sick like she remembered him being. She also knew how happy Eric made her sister. Her sister who was more than a mother to her and her siblings than their biological mother was.
Kinsey’s phone buzzed signaling a new text message.
”Hey there beautiful! Get all the kids to bed?”
She giggled, “Yes I did. Finally. How is everything where you are?”
”Great! Barry just finished cooking us dinner! I miss you….”
She giggled again. He always told her he missed her.
“I miss you too. This is going to be a long two months, huh?” She laughed as she laid back down on her bed
”Yes, yes it is. But just remember we’ll be together all the time for a few months after that.”
“The kids miss you too.” She typed out
”I miss them too. I have the pictures they colored taped to my bunk walls.” He confessed
“Awww! That’s so cute! They’re going to love hearing that. You’re so sweet to us.” She stated
”Damnit! My phone is about to die. I’ll talk to you soon, ok? Keep your chin up!”
His phone died before he got a reply to her. He hated it but it was his own fault for not putting his phone on the charger in the dressing room like he should have. Barry chuckled at the bassist who had gotten up to put his phone on the charger in his bunk and grab his laptop. He began searching sites in Paris in one browser and unique engagement rings in another. Nothing on the ring front seemed appropriate. He wanted it to be beautiful but unique. It had to be extra special since she was an extra special woman.
-x-x-x-Kinsey worked on getting the children into a routine. Mostly for school and Kellie. Breakfast at 6am followed by the children getting dressed. Once they were dressed, they helped with the house work (by picking up their toys and books and putting them back where they go; picking up their rooms; etc), and the work with the farm. She fixed them lunch while they washed up from the morning’s activities. After lunch they had nap time (for the three smallest children) and play time (for the older two).
Once Hayden & Bella woke up from their nap they were allowed to go play with their siblings. Daisy liked helping with the farm so she usually did that while the others played and ran around. Kinsey made dinner, which the children all loved helping with, and after dinner it was homework time. Kinsey cleaned up the kitchen while the Daisy and Jesse did their homework. After homework they either watched a movie, played board or card games, or read books. She tried getting Hayden and Bella in bed by 7:30pm but some nights, like the first show of the tour for example, were exceptions to that. Daisy and Jesse were in bed by 8pm.
Kinsey had to get Kellie to help her get the kids registered for school, Hayden & Bella registered for pre-school, and Lane for daycare. The older woman was more than happy to help. She came over to learn the routines of the children. Kinsey was sure she’d be really lost if it weren’t for Kellie and was quick to tell the older woman so! The school schedule was slightly different than the non-school schedule.
