Song: Paralyzed by NF
Word count - 1271"Who lives, Who dies, Who Tells Your Story"
-"We're losing him..." The paramedic shouted as she looked over to see the heart monitor showing a flatline.
"We need to bag him, Buck I need your help okay... " The paramedic turned around to look at Buck who was panicking.
"I... I don't think I will be able to do it... I can't" Buck spluttered as he backed away, letting go of Eddie's hand.
"You can do it okay... I just need you to hold this light so I can bag him, but as soon as I get it in... You need to control this, I've got to do CPR." Buck finally gave in shuffling over to the paramedic as she grabbed the equipment. "Okay... I'm in, swap places." Everything was going so quick that Buck couldn't keep up with anything.
After four minutes they finally got Eddie back, the doors to the ambulance opened.
A doctor ran into the ambulance as the Paramedic read off what happened, "We're struggling to keep him going, do we induce him?" The paramedic spoke, Buck looked up panicking into what that meant.
"Alright, get the medication... We're going to put him into a Drug-induced coma, get a bed ready in ICU, with a full body scan and get the trauma team ready to. Just going to carry out a check before while you grab the medication." The doctor called as he cut open Eddie's top more, showing one long bruise across his chest from where the Seat belt had stopped - Buck couldn't help but let out a small gasp seeing his boyfriend in this state.
"Alright so his pupils have blown with some eye movement, no response to pain, Some blood in the ear canal... Alright, can we send for bloods when he's in - Need to check for any abnormal activities in his blood - I also want an MRI scan and an EEG, get those all on fast track. We may still get some reflex when putting the breathing tube down so please don't be alarmed."
Soon enough he had put Eddie into an induced coma, and soon took him up to ICU. But couldn't even think about going up to see what they were going to do, so he waited on the wall outside waiting for his team to show up.
"Buck! Hey, is everything okay!" Bobby shouted as the truck pulled up in front of the hospital, he quickly jogged over towards Buck who didn't hear what he said the first time. "Buck!" Bobby said again, putting his hand on Buck's shoulder.
"Hmm? What, oh Bobby... Hi everyone" Buck mumbled as everyone looked at him with sympathy, "They took him to ICU, they put him into an induced coma and he crashed once while on our way to here" Buck mumbled again, trying to explain to them all what had happened.
"Hey why don't we go in and see how he is doing... Maybe they will let us see him." Hen said, kneeling down to see how broken Buck looked, she noticed him messing with the ring that Eddie had given him when he asked him out - Hen couldn't help but feel bad for the broken man infront of her.
"I... I can't, this is all my fault - He hates me..." Buck choked out looking around at everyone as his breathing quickened up.
"Hey,hey,hey... Look at me Buck, breathe your going to make yourself sick if you keep panicking... Just copy my breathing okay..." Hen spoke gently, gaining Bucks attention again. He tried to follow them but he was quickly becoming light headed, the world started to spin, that was until it all went dark...
"Buck? Buck! Open your eyes!" Buck heard a very familiar voice as he stirred from his sleep.
"Hey Evan, how are you doing?" Maddie spoke out as she placed her hand over his, he focused more on her as he realised she had been crying.
"Maddie... Why have you been crying for, what's happened?" Buck quickly sat up in the hospital bed brushing off the nausea he felt, which was probably from the passing out episode he had.
"I didn't want to tell you this... But Eddie didn't make it - they tried all they could, there was just no radioactivity in his brain after the results came back from the EEG. They pronounced he was dead a few hours ago while you were out cold from passing out outside."
"No... No. That can't be true! They said he was going to be okay!" Buck spoke, the nausea coming back but so did that pain in the back of his head, making him feel as if he was going to faint again.
"I'm so sorry Evan... I wish it didn't go this way, but at least he is out of pain..." That was the last thing he heard as he fainted again, his head hitting the pillow.
"Buck! Common man, wake up! Eddie needs you!" Buck scrunched his face confused of what just happened, As Buck opened his eyes, he was in the same room as he was just in but everyone looked as if they had hope written all over their faces.
"What happened then." He questioned grabbing his head from the pain, as he sat up more in the bed looking at everyone.
"You fainted outside Buck after they brought Eddie in, are you okay?" Chimney spoke as he was the closest one near to him.
"He-He's dead though... Maddie told me." Everyone gave Buck a confused look as he spoke about this assumption.
"What? No, Maddie isn't here - you must of had a dream about it - we have news on Eddie actually, they did all the scans they needed to - everything came back fine and they took the breathing tube out and he was breathing for himself - he woke up for a bit and was talking but soon fell back asleep because of how much medication he was on - he asked for you by the way." Hen smiled, seeing Bucks face light up.
"I need to see him now" Buck sat up more as he attempted to get out of the bed, quickly being pushed back down by Bobby again.
"Why don't we wait to see what the doctor says and then we can think about getting out of the bed and going to see Eddie." He smiled, Buck nodding before he relaxed back down.
"How long was I out for ?"
"You were out for six hours Buck, you must have exhausted yourself from how much panicking you did." Chimney answered looking down at his watch.
"Jesus, I didn't realise." Buck chirped back.
"Ah, it's nice to see you awake Evan! I'm Will Halstead your doctor for today, how are you feeling?" Will questioned as he walked in, greeting everyone in the room as he pulled on some gloves.
"Um... I'm feeling great - when can I go?" Buck questioned as he looked down at his hands.
"Well... we were hoping that if you felt 100% you could go because we're struggling on beds and I heard Mr Diaz has been asking for you - so I think it's okay for you to be let out, as I know you'll be with Mr Diaz so... I will grab the discharge papers and send them to his room. You're free to go." With those words, Buck stood up asking where Eddie was, a nurse quickly escorted him to Eddie's room.
Buck took one last breath before opening the door to see his love of his life again.
"Hello You..."
