Months had passed and Peter had been staying in the Anderson's apartment. He didn't have any money to pay them as a sort of 'rent' that he insisted upon, he would do any housework-wash the dishes, vacuum, clean the bathrooms, do any laundry, anything that he could find. He had also avoided Mr. Stark, Happy and all the Avengers. They didn't know about May and he used marching band as an excuse to not show up to his internship. May's funeral only consisted of Peter and Harper watching the casket lower into the ground and get covered with dirt and grass. Peter had gotten over it but he still had his moments where he blamed himself and Braxton or Harper would find him. He also had grown close to Braxton-result of sharing a room with him-they would talk and hangout and such along with Peter getting to handle Braxton's tortoise; Barnes.
The dreams had not stopped, they had calmed though. They were either repeats or of Thor grieving and one was of them being born and Thor trying to calm Solvi. The two would sleep the rest of the night peacefully though and talk about it on the way to school.
Vincent had been the one to allow Peter to stay when Jane didn't seem to like the idea and Harper had explained it to him and not Jane.
The Marching Band had gone to four competitions and placed in all of them. Then they had fall break from the nineteenth to the twenty-third as a momentary break from the stress of life, though they had been asked that even though it was called 'Fall Break' did not mean that you were supposed to fall and break yourself. Many laughed at the thought.
Tony was getting concerned about Peter. He had shown up one night with a friend and both were scared about dreams then they left early in the morning and besides being told that he had band or school, he hadn't heard anything from the teenager. Happy had said that he hadn't heard anything from Peter besides the fact that May was back so he was back with her and she would pick him up from school and band. Tony felt like he was being avoided by a teenager and he was going to figure out why.
He started on the internet, to see if there was anything about Midtown High. There was a bunch of stuff that came up, the school website and sports teams apparently not doing so hot-like usual with a nerd school-there were two articles about the schools marching band and it immediately caught his attention.
'A STEM school in Queens placed in every competition they've competed in this year'
The title seemed very generic and simple but it was information that Tony sought, slightly.
After reading that, he went through the news from the last couple months and had FRIDAY skim through and see if anything was of importance and after a few minutes the Irish voice spoke up.
"Boss, I believe that you may want to read this."
"What've you got for me?"
A holographic screen appeared in front of his face and the headline read, 'Woman killed in car accident.' It didn't seem important until it showed a picture of May Parker. He forced himself to look away from the picture of May and the other picture of a car's front end smashed into a large truck. It talked about May having just gotten back from volunteering in Central America and being on her way to pick up her nephew from school but never making it there. It also said that nobody knew where the boy that she had guardianship over, was staying.
Tony tried calling Peter multiple times but got no response, after checking the school website, he learned that they were on fall break. He had FRIDAY search for Peter by any means that she had access to then after she found nothing, he asked her to search for where Harper Anderson lived.
After FRIDAY gave him an address, he called for one of his suits and flew over to the apartment building in Queens, New York. He landed on the roof of the building and stepped out of the suit and left it where it stood. He made his way to the roof door and asked the AI what apartment number he was looking for.
