I smile as the elevator doors open and the song in my ears reaches its chorus.
Today was a good day, an easy one. Maybe a little boring, but that's ok. I'm going to see Casey!
I can barely keep the giddy smile off my face from thinking about him.
I pull out my phone.
"I'm out baby, I'm on my way home." -Max
"Finally! It's been way too long! My house or your house tonight?" -Casey
"Well what's everyone else doing?" -Max
"Brielle's on a date, but Kimberly and Addison aren't doing anything." -Casey
"Should we invite them over?" -Max
"No." -Casey
His response is instant, and my eyes widen.
"I want you all to myself." -Casey
I blush, roll my eyes, and smile.
"Fine, but you'd better have dinner ready when I get home or you're not getting any!" -Max
We haven't actually done anything more than oral. I think we're both waiting, waiting for the right time. Waiting for when it's perfect.
"How does Chinese food sound?" -Casey
I nod.
"From the place down the street? Sunset in Beijing?" -Max
"Absolutely." -Casey
"Sounds good, see you at my house!" -Max
"20 mins. is too long!" -Casey.
I smile again.
The doors ding open and me and 3 other people step off and into the parking garage.
We all go our separate ways to our parking spots and cars.
I smile when I see Aurora.
"You like your car huh?" A familiar voice drawls, and my stomach does flips from hearing it.
"B-Ben." I stammer and turn to face him. He looks almost exactly the same except for a few deep gashes in his arms and bruises on his face.
He's holding a gun.
A pistol.
My eyes widen at it and I freeze.
"Been a month Max, you didn't even try to reach out?" He asks. His tone seems hurt, but it's more mocking and amusement than real pain.
"B-Ben please." I beg and he smirks.
"He said you were cute when you begged."
I freeze and start to shake as my head feels light.
"Wh-who said?" I stammer, though I already know the answer.
"Him."
I whimper.
"B-Ben. Are you going to kill me?" I ask and his eyes widen.
"Of course not! Why would you think that?" He asks, confused. I watch a look of understanding cross his face. "Oh, the gun. Relax Max. It doesn't even have bullets."
"Then why are you smiling like that?" I ask nervously as a sly grin takes his face.
"Oh, because it's not bullets in this gun, it's poison." He says and my eyes widen.
"Ben wait-"
"Relax again Max." He says with his grin still on his face. "It won't kill you."
"O-oh..."
He smirks and raises the gun.
"Wait Ben!" I say and throw my hands up, he stops. "W-why? Why are you doing this?"
He rolls his eyes. "Because He told me to."
I flinch.
"A-all of it?"
"Pretty much. The break-in, the tracker in your phone, this." He says.
"Th-the tracker? In-in my phone?" I stammer.
"Oh yeah, you're way too trusting." He says. "When you gave me your phone at the restaurant? The times we "ran into each other?" That was no accident."
"Y-you were following me?" I ask and he nods.
"Well, He wanted you way sooner." He says and I flinch again. He smirks. "I see you still miss Him."
My eyes widen and I shake my head violently.
"No. I'm way happier he's gone. And you can take that back to him." I say strongly, despite how fucking terrified I am.
But Ben just smirks.
"You can tell him yourself." He says and pulls the trigger.
I flinch and look down at my chest.
A dart.
Ok, this isn't so bad.
Then my eyes roll back in my head and I pass out.

All I feel is gray.
All I see is gray.
In all directions, at all times.
My eyes feel heavy, so heavy.
I wince, trying to force them open.
Maybe there's less gray?
I groan and roll over as I slowly work my eyes open.
It takes some coaxing, but I open them up and wince at the bright lights.
I slam them shut and roll onto my other side, but something yanks my leg.
I reach with my hands and fingers as opposed to opening my eyes again and feel something cold. Like really freezing and metal.
I groan again and open my eyes.
Bright light slices through the relative darkness of the room and I wince but force my eyes to stay open.
The first thing I look at is down.
I'm in a bed and not wearing pants. Or a shirt for that matter. I'm just in boxers.
As I pull off the comforter, I realize the boxers are dark blue, like Casey's eyes.
And there's a chain.
And a cuff.
It's wrapped around my left ankle and as I continue to pull off the comforter more of the chain is revealed.
It's really long and connected to the wall.
I look around at my surroundings.
I'm in a windowless room, a bedroom.
The style is modern and light blue and white. The dressers are white, the doors are white, and 3 of the 4 walls are white. The blankets and pillows on the bed are blue and white and the last wall, an "accent wall," is the same shade of light blue.
The room is awash in a golden glow and upon further inspection it comes from the ceiling lights.
It's a nice room but... why am I chained in it?
I get my answer as I roll onto my other side in an attempt to complete my survey of the room.
My eyes land on a familiar pair of electric blue eyes.
He's sitting next to me in a wooden chair and when he sees me notice him, he smiles and brushes a curl out of my face.
"Good morning baby, nice to see you." Kai murmurs, planting a light kiss on my forehead.
Kai.
Him.
