Chapter 40: Casey's POV

How I imagined all of your reactions when you read the last cliffhanger ^^ 

"Damn they're really good." Jax says and I smile at him.

"They really are." I say and glance back up at Addison.

She's singing her favorite song and I smile at her.

This is the last one they're singing of the night and I think it's my favorite.

But that's probably because it's about Max and me.

"The easy smile, that easy laugh. I want that, I want that."

I blush, yeah, it's definitely about Max and me.

"She has such a pretty voice." Jax says and I nod.

"Hey guys, where's Max?" Kimberly asks, sinking into our booth at Jane's bar.

Jane's "Bar" actually doesn't serve alcohol, but it's basically a gay bar for kids. They serve coffee and teas and such and it's really quaint.

"He's still at work." I say sadly. "He just called, said Adrian was keeping him late for something."

"Oh... shame." She says and I nod. "So, we've already made almost eight hundred for the whole night."

My eyes widen and I nod.

"Not bad for a night." She says.

"Hey guys!" Addison says, hopping off the stage and sitting in Kimberly's nap.

"You did great!" Brielle says, her fingers looped through Jax's. Damn they look super cute together.

I don't really know when they got so serious. I guess they're hanging out more?

"So be honest." I start and they both turn to me. "That last songs about Max and me."

They both blush.

"Yeah, it is." Kimberly admits.

"It's really sweet." I say and she nods.

"Well it was true. I wanted what you two had." She says and I frown.

"Um... we just started dating." I point out and she rolls her eyes.

"Yeah but before. When you first got here and fell for Max-"

"I didn't!" She rolls her eyes again and Addison smiles knowingly.

"And your eyes would light up whenever you saw Max, or you would blush when you saw him in only his swimsuit." She says. "And of course, Max would go crazy whenever he saw you."

My turn to roll my eyes. "He would not."

"He definitely did!" Addison says.

"He did." Brielle adds.

"Max would freak out over everything you did. If you smiled at him, he was done. He broke down for the rest of the day. If you actually touched him? Oh boy." Kimberly says.

"But that wasn't even the best parts. The best parts were when you two were just yourselves. You laughed and smiled at each other and spoke with more than words."

I scoff.

"You did! And Max fell in love with you, even though he was with Kai, he fell in love. And then you saved him from Kai-"

"I didn't save him from Kai, I only made things worse."

"-and Max swore he'd do anyth- what'd you just say?" Kimberly freezes and looks at me. "You only made things worse?"

"Yes, Max almost died because of me! I pressured him into breaking up with kai, and Kai punished him!" I say, so regretful it hurts.

"Have you apologized to Max?" Brielle asks, one eyebrow raised.

"No, I haven't found the right ti-"

"Don't." She interrupts.

"Wha- why?"

"Because you didn't do anything wrong. Don't apologize to him, he'll just freak out and put even MORE pressure on himself." She says.

"You SAVED Max." Addison says.

"Our regret is not noticing sooner." Kimberly says and the others nod in agreement. "We're sorry we didn't see Kai was beating him or how hard he worked to cover it up."

"I-I didn't-"

"But you did." Brielle says. "You saw and you acted, and you pretty much saved him. Who knows what would have happened is Max had stayed under the thumb of that-" She pauses, and her face contorts. "I literally can't think of a word that hurts enough to call him."

I smile slightly and she blushes and scowls. "Whatever."

Jax laughs but then drops his gaze to the table. "Sorry, continue."

"Oh... well what'd you think, Jax?" Kimberly asks and Jax nods.

"You were incredible." He says and Addison blushes.

"Thank you."

"It's a shame Max missed it." Brielle says and I frown.

"Yeah." I sigh, missing the feel of him in my arms. His body against mine, him wrapped around my shaft.

I pull out my phone and text him.

"Baby, you almost done?" -Casey

His reply is instant.

"Almost. I promise!" -Max

"Ok, I miss you." -Casey

"I know baby, I'm excited to see you again tonight!" -Max

I smile. I just saw him this morning, but he's been gone for too long.

I need him.

"I can't wait to hear all about your first day!" -Casey

"I might be too tired to tell you." -Max

"Then I'd be more than happy to fall asleep with you. You're house or mine?" I ask him.

"My apartment's closer, is that ok?" -Max

I nod.

"I'll meet you there, when are you leaving?" -Casey

"10 mins." -Max

I smile.

"Can't wait to strip you out of that suit and choke you with the tie as I kiss every inch of your beautiful body." -Casey

"God damn keep it in your pants, Casey" Brielle says, and I startle. She's reading over my shoulder and I roll my eyes.

"What'd he say?" Kimberly asks.

"Is that Max?" Addison jumps in.

Brielle snatches my phone before I can shut it off and leans away from me. She gives the phone to Jax so it's out of my reach and reads it aloud over his shoulder.

"It is Max and he says, "Can't wait to strip you out of that suit and choke you with the tie as I kiss every inch of your beautiful body."" She says and I blush.

"Damn Casey." Kimberly says and gives me an impressed look.

My phone dings and I snatch it back and read the message.

"CASEY!" -Max

"Ok got to go, see you at home!" -Max

I smile.

"Max will be leaving in ten minutes, so I've got to go and-"

"We get it, see you later." Addison says and I smile.

"Bye guys!" I say and hop out of the booth.
