Casey (just imagine him with bluer eyes) ^^

Fuck it was hot out here. The sun was climbing and there was absolutely no cloud cover. No breeze.

The only respite from this fucking heat was the pool, but only the swimmers were allowed in it.

I peered over the railing, looking for anyone. Well... not anyone. I was only looking for one person.

Brooke and Iris were here... which means Max had to be.

I was scanning the crowd, looking for him. His wet, messy hair. His sunset-golden eyes. His smile.

I find him, wearing a bright blue and yellow team shirt, and leading a bunch of small children to their lane. He has a beautiful, carefree smile on his face as he bends down and helps a little girl with a bright pink cap on and adjusts her goggles.

Another girl, this one with pigtails, leans forward. Clambering for his attention. She whispers something into his ear, and he laughs, giggling with her.

I see him turn back and continue leading them towards their lanes. I smile to myself when I see his necklace glittering in the sun.

"That was the night I fell in love with you. I'm in love with you Casey Isles!"

I wince and my smile fades as I hear his voice in my head.

"Glad you could make it!" I hear a voice say from behind me, startling me from my thoughts.

I turn to see Brielle smiling up at me. The wine-colored tips of her wavy hair are brighter in the midday sun and her arms are definitely tanner. "Like I said, I wouldn't miss it for the world." I say, an easy smile settling on my face.

Both she and I are wearing way less than we were this morning, back when it was only 50 degrees. She's wearing a paint-splattered, purple, tye-dye shirt and black shorts. The red hoodie she was wearing earlier is tied around her waist. I'm wearing white shorts and a blue shirt that matches my eyes and flip-flops.

"Addison's here too." She says, lightly smiling. I break into a full grin at the sound of my best friend's name. "But... Kimberly's here too." I sigh. If Kimberly was here Addison wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

"Well... do you know when Max is supposed to swim?" I ask her.

"Not for a little bit longer. But Brooke and Iris are swimming in 2 events." Brielle says as a small smirk appears on her face.

"I'm hungry." I say with a sigh. "C'mon, my treat. We'll be back in time."

We weren't.

The line was too long, and we missed both Iris's and Brooke's swims.

But we did end up scoring the last hotdogs so...

To make up for it I bought the twins 2 large packs of their favorite candy and walked onto the pool deck hoping to find them. Starbursts for Iris, and Twizzlers for Brooke.

I did find them. They were wrapped in a big bearhug by Max. Max is a short kid but his arms reached all around his sister's as he held them as close as possible to his lean, bronze, muscular body.

Not that I noticed his body.

I waited patiently for them and eventually they unwrapped from each other and started to cheer.

"We're going to FINALSSSSS!!!!" Brooke cheered, looking up at her much older brother.

He cheered and hugged them again. Then he noticed me.
