The diner ^
"Table for 4, please." I said at the hostess' stand. It wasn't even 9 o'clock yet and here I was, dressed and showered, at The Diner.
I sighed as the hostess, who is actually a guy, grabs 4 menu's and leads me into the restaurant. I pass families with children, old couples and young couples, but not one group of friends.
The guy, who I notice is kind of cute and named Edward, seats me in a booth at the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. It's quiet and smells amazing.
"What is the name of your party?" He asks me as he sets the menu's down. I try to place his accent but it's hard. Maybe he's from New York?
"Um... Brielle." I mumble, offering him a slight flirtatious smile. Might as well right? I need some entertainment while I'm waiting for the others to get out of bed.
He blushes a little and walks away.
I pull out my phone and pull up messages and some game Caleb likes.
I type and hit send, switching back to the game.
"Party's under Brielle. I'm in the back-left side."
It isn't long before people start to show up.
Addison arrives first and instantly I notice something's wrong. She's not her laughing usual self and her eyes are red. She's wearing too much makeup, like she wants to hide something, and she barely smiles when she sees me. I slide over to make room for her and as soon as she sits, I pounce on her.
"So, what was up with last night??" I demand.
"I..."
"What happened? Are you and Kimberly ok?" I ask, scooting forward and playing with her hair. I twirl it in my fingers and brush it around the way she likes it. She claims it helps her stay calm, so I figured I'd try it.
"We... well we broke up. And I- I made her choose. Between me and... her parents." She barely managed to stutter her way through the sentence before her voice broke.
"Oh Addie..." I mumble, rubbing her back. "It's ok, it's ok."
"I miss her..."
"You'll see her soon!" I insist.
"But that scares me!!"
"She scares you?" I ask, surprised.
"No... I'm scared to see her. I'm scared of what I'll do. Of what I'll say."
"There's no rea-"
But I was interrupted by Casey as he sat down at our table.
"Good morning!" He chirped as our waitress came by and finally took our order.
"What can I get you?" She asks, she has a high voice and it instantly annoys me. Probably because it's still so early and I haven't had any coffee.
"3 coffees." I say instantly.
"I'll bring a pot." The annoying woman says as she turns away.
"Where's Kim? She was the one who told us to be here?" Casey asks, looking around the restaurant.
"I had to walk." Kimberly said, she sounded so annoyed, and suddenly she was just... here.
"Why? Are you ok?" Casey asks, sliding deeper into the booth.
