"FEEL LIKE A BRAND NEW PERSON..."
I received news from Sabrina that Rosalind was going completely blind. I was devastated to hear about the news. I wish I could do something, anything, to ease her pain.
It was the next day and it was time to go back to court. I put on a simple black dress with a dress coat and heels. I made my way out my room and down the stairs. I suddenly saw Ambrose coming up from behind a corner. I gave him a quick smile.
"Hey, any news about the DNA results?" I asked him.
"Well, I got the results this morning and... you are a mystical being, Mary. But the tests don't specify which being." He said. My eyebrows etched together. "So what does that mean?" I asked with confusion.
"It means, you're a new species of creatures or... your family comes from mystical beings that haven't been discovered yet." He said. I hummed. "Well, thank you anyways, Ambrose." I said. I saw him grin.
"Also... you left something in my room." He said, holding up my brown lace bra. My eyes slightly widened with embarrassment before I snatched the bra from his hands. He began to chuckle, placing a hand on his chest. His laughs softened.
"Don't be embarrassed. It's only boobs." He mocked me before swiping the bottom of my chin with his thumb and turning on his heel and walking away. I rolled my eyes before going into the kitchen, spotting Daniel Webster and the aunties and Sabrina. I quickly shoved my bra into my satchel.
"Aunties, Mr. Webster, I've made my decision." Sabrina began to speak.
"So have I." I said confidently.
"I'm not taking the deal. I'll submit to Blackwood's exam. I don't have witch's mark, so there's nothing to lose." Sabrina spoke. I grinned happily. "Neither have I, and according to Ambrose I might be a new mythical being that no one has heard about before." I spoke. Zelda looked at me with confusion.
"And who exactly confirmed that you don't have a witch's mark?" She asked. I suddenly heard someone come into the room.
"I did, Auntie Zee." I heard Ambrose say. Zelda's eyebrows etched together before she sighed and took another hit of her cigarette. "Back into the fray, eh, cousin?" Ambrose said, looking at Sabrina. He made his way to the dining table before leaning against it, crossing his arms.
I looked at Mr. Webster. "When they see that we don't have a mark, Mr. Webster, what happens then?" I asked.
"We demand a retrial... in human court, where you're innocent until proven guilty." He said, standing to his feet. "And we demand that my aunties' powers and youth are restored. It's non-negotiable." I said sternly, glancing at them.
"Thank you for that, sweetheart, but to be stripped and pawed—." I cut Zelda off. "I've had worst things done to me, including Sabrina. Besides, there are a lot of people facing their fears right now, fighting battles they know they are not gonna win. So, if this is mine, well, then let's get it over with. But no tricks, no plea bargains." I said, before glancing back at Sabrina.
"We should go. I'll be outside." I said, turning on my heel and leaving the room.

We were now sitting in the pews of the church watching as Blackwood stood before us. "Sabrina, Mary Rose, am I to understand that you come now before this court to endure the test of the witch's mark, as described and demanded by your mortal laws?" He asked us.
"Yes, Father Blackwood." Me and Sabrina spoke in unison. Daniel Webster stood to his feet. "We request this examination be held in closed chambers." He spoke.
