"YOU'RE SO GOLDEN..."
I immediately ran into Zelda and Hilda's room to see that they were laying in bed, getting ready for sleep. I closed the door behind me in a hurry. "Mary Rose?" Zelda says in confusion.
"What's the matter?" Hilda says as the Aunties get out of their beds. My heart was going a mile a minute and I quickly caught my breath.
"When I solved the Acheron Configuration, it set a demon free and now it's loose." I said in a panic. "What kind of demon?" Zelda asked, somehow keeping her cool.
"I don't know a demon-demon. A scary demon." I said. Zelda puts on her slippers. "Calm down. If the entity came out of the Acheron Configuration, it can be put back into the Configuration." She said. I glanced back at the door as she approached me.
"Where is it? The puzzle box?" She asked. "I left it in my room on accident." I said with fear.
"Spellmans." I heard the demon suddenly hiss from behind the door, I jumped and back away from it. The door trying to force itself open. Zelda sighs. "Well, this is simply perfect." She said. She then takes us into a private hallway so we didn't have to go through that specific door.
We immediately went downstairs near the front door. I suddenly see Ambrose and Sabrina coming from down the stairs. I breathed out with relief before pulling him down with us and into a hug. "What the devil is going on, Mary Rose?" He asked, hugging me back with a confused expression.
"Not the devil, Ambrose, a demon. In the house." I said with fear. I let him go. He looked down at me. "What do you mean, a demon? What kind of demon?" He asked with widened eyes. We gathered into a circle.
"Whatever it is, we have protocols in place. We seal the house to contain the entity, to prevent it from escaping into the world, where it could cause rampant, wanton chaos." Zelda said. Oh, yeah now I remember.
"Alright, let's do this." Ambrose said before we all joined hands and closed our eyes. We began chanting a spell that only the five of us know. Our voices rang through the house and I felt the air shift. We finished the incantation before opening our eyes slowly.
"Spellmans." We heard the demon hiss.
We turned our heads to see the demon at the top of the stairs with a venomous expression. "You're his family, aren't you? My captors kin. You smell like Spellmans. Well... except for one." Their eyes drifted to me and I gulped. Suddenly Ambrose grabbed my arm and pulled me close to him. Zelda stood in front of us confidently.
"Know this, demon. Our house is sealed with an incantation we, and only we, know. If you harm us you'll never escape it." She said. The demon began to slowly make its way down the stairs.
"Another prison?! No, no, no! Edward Spellman imprisoned me in the Acheron Puzzle for 70 years. I'll not be caged again!" It shouts. "What do you want, Hellspawn?" Ambrose asked.
"First, revenge on the family of Edward Spellman. And that thing you all call family." It said, it's eyes beaded into me. "And then, freedom, so I may fill the world with my sublime nightmares." It said before pointing its long figure at the radio placed on a table near the front door. Suddenly, the radio turns onto a specific sweet tune. One you could fall asleep to.
"It's a sleep demon." I whispered. "Zelda, if it puts us to sleep we're at its mercy." Hilda said. Zelda walked over to an empty urn on a table before picking it up.
"Thank you for stating the obvious, Hilda, but not to worry. It won't get the chance to." She said before standing back in front of us. She holds up the urn. "Turpis et infernis in terris pariunt." Zelda began chanting a smell causing wind to whip through the house. I immediately grabbed onto Ambrose, burying my face into his chest, too scared to see what would happen next.
