I Remember

Chapter 18

"Hey Maya? Maya are you ok?" A tapping motion on my hand snaps me out of my trance.

"Umm, yea, yes I'm ok."

I could see that Asher's sarcastic, giggly expression was now a stern one. "Maya, I have a plan. You might think it is crazy but it's the only way that will keep you safe, so you have to listen to me."

I found it so strange how the two men were just sitting there in silence. They didn't even order.

"Yes, I'm listening," I stutter.

He takes my hand, looking me in the eyes. I'm glad he did this, I feel much safer when his warm skin is touching mine.

"I know people up north. They have home which we can settle in. They know that we are coming, I arranged everything last night while you were sleeping. I know what you might be thinking but-"

"No, I'm on board 100%. They ruined my life, while you saved me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you far away from those monsters."

I See the smile form once again on his face. "Good," was all he could say.

"Right after we finish breakfast, we head past the beach and into the woods. My friends will pick us up from there. And don't worry about your belongings, my friends are loaded, they will buy you all new things."

"Ok, that sounds good, But what about Rose? I can't leave her."

"I called her last night and told her our situation...she's coming with us."

"Sorry to interrupt," the waiter said while putting our food down.

"No worries," I answered.

The food smelt so good. Once John left I basically inhaled my whole plate!

"Wow, someone's hungry!" Asher laughed.

"Yes indeed!"

We were both so hungry that we finished our meal in less than 5 minutes. As we were about to stand up and leave, I heard a bell ring indicating that the door opened.

"Mom?"
