We pull up to this huge castle-like mansion. "Wow this is beautiful!" I whisper to myself. My mom comes to a stop right in front of the front entrance."Girls, have the best time! I'll pick you up at twelve."
I unbuckle my seatbelt making sure it doesn't get caught on my dress. When I open the car door, I trip over one of my heels and almost face-plant onto the driveway.
"Omg Maya are you okay?" Rose Chuckles.
"Haha yes I am fine." I laugh. Once we are both out of the car my mom waves and drives away. By the time Rose and I arrive, a huge crowd has already gathered. My stomach turns a fearful little flip. Somehow after being memory free for a whole month I feel like an outsider. But Rose pulls me along without hesitation.
We make our way through the castle, until we are looking down from the second level to the ballroom. "I feel ridiculous." Rose states.
"You look fabulous. We didn't spend the better half of the day bibbidi-bobbidi-booing ourselves up for nothing! And plus, everyone is dressed like this."
"Yea but... nevermind. Everyone is going to be so happy to see you." Rose says.
"Yea, I guess." A strong arm slaps around my shoulder.
"Well, well, well, what have we here?" Logan. Possibly the last person I want to see right now.
"What's up Mayaaa!" He says extending my name. Rose bites her lip holding back a laugh.
"Speaking of happy to see you." She says under her breath. Then she smiles at Logan, "I'll let you two catch up!" I give her a death stare.
"That won't be ness.."
She looks at me, "hey, I'm going to go downstairs to say hi to a couple people. I will meet you at the cocktail station!" She then walks down the grand stairwell.
"I heard you got your memories taken away." Logan says. His curly brunette hair has been carefully gelled back, and he wears a cocky smile.
I lift his arm off me and drop it, "yep" I say annoyingly.
"You know, we can make new ones." He says this with compassion, but I am really not interested. Rose told me that he is a very toxic person.
"No thanks." I say while moving away. Logan steps in front of me. He tilts his head down to look me in the eye.
"You look stunning if it isn't obvious."
I roll my eyes, "please."
"Come here. I know you are annoyed with me, I'll make it all better!" He pulls me into a big bearhug.
"Hey!" I laugh in spite of myself as I fight him off.
"Hugs will heal the world!" He sings, lifting me up. He puts me down and I shrug him away playfully.
"Don't be angry." He says. "I can't resist you. I'm madly in love with you."
I snort. "Now you are just mocking me."
"I'm serious!"
He is absolutely not serious. I give him a little solitude and walk away. "Bye Logan."
"You shouldn't run from your feelings!" He calls out. "Accept your undenying passion for me! It will be better for everyone!" I shake my head even though I am smiling. Logan can't go to sleep at night unless he believes every girl is in love with him. I keep walking until I reach the staircase.
