As I find myself hesitating at the first step, someone catches my eye below me. It's a boy who looks around my age. I never saw him before, isn't this supposed to be a school event. He is around 6'0 and has light brown hair with golden highlights. It is perfectly gelled that it almost looks like a wig. He has a handsome face, you could mistake him for being a movie star. He has a fair complexion with little freckles on his nose. Then I notice his eyes. Once glance of those blue green eyes told a whole story that has never been put into words. Then it comes to me. That's the boy who was following me!

I look at him again. He is staring at me, but this time he is smiling. His smile was one of the happiest things I have ever seen. I could feel that I came from deep inside of him to light his eyes and spread into every part of him.

I feel uneasy. I hold onto the railing and walk down the stairs elegantly, keeping my chin up giving the impression that I know what I am doing. I make sure to go the other way to the cocktail station so I don't pass by him. I see Rose.

"Hey Maya! How was Logan?!" She said sarcastically, but I don't laugh, I have too many questions.

"That's not funny."

"Come on, what's the attitude?" Rose said, still being sarcastic.

"Tell me who that boy is." I point to the direction he is in.

"I know that you know something I don't. You have been acting weird ever since I mentioned him to you earlier."

"Maya I said stop."

"Stopped what? I know for a fact I'm not the one lying!" I snapped.

"You know what Maya, you don't know a thing. You are just some innocent girl who doesn't remember anything."

I froze. Why would she say that? I look at her one last time with fear and sadness in my eyes and then I run to the door. I hear in a distance, "Maya I'm sorry, I didn't mean it! Please come back."

I need air. I fling the door open. It's heavier than I thought. I am the only outside. I can feel tears running down my cheeks. I suddenly find it hard to breath. I'm dizzy and I can't focus on anything. Then the shuffle of footsteps on the concrete snaps me to attention.

My first thought is Logan, he has the tendency to follow me around. "Logan, it's not the time." I say. Then a tall male outline emerges from the shadows on my left. Logan isn't that tall. My muscles tense. He takes a hesitant step towards me. I squint into the darkness, trying to make out a face. The boy moves into a faint light. I don't recognize him. Then the light build turns on inside my head. A hot change runs down my spine. I stand. Those eyes. Blue green and bright. It's him. He comes towards me, with an unreadable expression. His lips part. His voice is deep and trembles as he utters a single word,

"Maya."
