Both people ran out of the car as quick as they could. Tears now running down Pez's face as she looked at Jamie on the ground. She sobbed into her hoodie sleeve and felt the tears mixed with her mascara stream down her face.
She couldn't hear anything. But she felt Jamie's dad's arm grab her and push her behind the car where no one could see them.
"You tell no one about this, understand? No one." When she failed to respond through her sobs, he pressed on, "You tell them it was me, understand? I was driving." Eventually she nodded, as the guilt swallowed her and the tears flowed faster.
She lay in her room, unable to speak. She had just come in, not speaking to anyone as she walked slowly up to her room, away from everyone. She heard the door to her room open.
"Hey, are you okay?" It was Dillon. "Boggy just texted, Jamie's okay."
"Thank God." she said, to nobody in particular. The longing to tell Dillon why she was so upset came flooding back, but she remembered what Ian had said. And she couldn't afford her dad finding out about this.
"Look, I don't know what happened Pez, but you know you can talk to me, right?" he said with sincerity in his voice, and she could imagine the look on his face.
She nodded, but she wasn't sure if he saw; she had turned away to look out the window at the sun setting on the garden below. She heard Dillon leave and she tried to sleep, her dreams disturbed by nightmares.
A week later, Perrie had not left the house. She hadn't spoken to Jamie, or anyone for that matter. But today was different. She woke up with an indestructible confidence with a positive mindset. Putting her hair up in a straight high ponytail, she checked her social media - 50,000 followers and counting (thanks to Theo), before doing her makeup and getting dressed. Today was the under-12's match and she said she would go to watch with Liam and Dillon, even though all she really wanted to do was stay home and watch TV, maybe do some baking. But she had made a commitment, and she always kept them.
Half an hour later, they wandered into the cafe where the whole Phoenix squad stood gossiping about Jamie, and she vowed there and then, to never say anything about it, as she imagined the vast amount of rumours that these people would be able to spread.
"I heard Jamie will never play football again." she heard Zoe say. This was kind of true. Boggie had texted her telling her that it would be unlikely Jamie would play professionally. So she'd ruined his career as well, had she? Great.
Whilst on her phone, Perrie glimpsed Dillon's attention being grabbed by a boy around their age, doing magic for Eric and Ruby. She became curious too, and wandered to where they stood, as Ruby introduced this boy as Elliot to Dillon, saying that he wasn't that into football.
"Who's not into football? What else is there?" Dillon said. Ugh, sometimes Dillon is such an idiot, she thought.
"Music, magic, astronomy?" Elliot replied.
"What, like stars?"
"Yeah."
"Right, later magic man." and he wandered over to Zoe.
"Ignore him." Perrie said, "He's just never met any other talented people apart from footballers."
"And this is Perrie." Ruby said, with a tone of dislike, but disguised it by clearing her throat afterwards.
"So you're friends with Dillon then?"
"Yeah." she said, her mind wondering to how her and Dillon actually met. "So you're really not into football then?"
"Nah."
"So what are you doing here?"
"I'm staying with Alba and Ruby for a bit, thought i'd come along to show some support. No offence, but you don't really look like a footballer."
She laughed and replied, "Yeah, it's my brother who's got the talent, he's a professional footballer, but I still play for Phoenix sometimes."
Ruby, who obviously wasn't liking the outcome of friendship from this conversation, dragged him away, muttering, "Elliot, come meet some of the under 12s."

A/N: Yeah, not a lot happened in this part, it was really just about meeting Elliot and the aftermath of Jamie's accident. Next one should be more interesting so keep reading!
