Northport Rovers were through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Shouts of celebrations echoed in the distance and from the speakers of Perrie's phone which were cut off abruptly when she clicked the power button and turned back to work. There was so much work.

She'd been hiding out in the corner of Duncan's office for the last few days trying to finish the stack of paperwork that came with starting a new team. But by the end of the day, Northport Women's would be a real team, even if Duncan didn't see it that way. True, it had been him who'd suggested the formation of it but since Northport's so far success in the FA Cup he'd seemed to have had other things on his mind, understandably.

She heard the door slam beneath her and the sound of footsteps climbing the stairs before Ruby's head appeared above the banister. "Hey." she said and Perrie sighed, thinking it might have been someone she really didn't want to talk to, but her and Ruby had actually become pretty close over the summer. "Your boyfriend just won like the 4th round of the FA Cup and here you are hiding in an office doing work."

"Do you think I want to? Trust me if I could I'd be with the others in the cafe. I did watch though." she held up her phone. "Besides, he's not really my boyfriend."

"Didn't you kiss him?"

"Yeah, maybe I did. But it's hard for us to find time to even see each other these days." she sighed. "Maybe i'll try and catch him tonight."

"Erm, not tonight. I kind of RSVPd you to a dinner tonight."

"Who's...?" she said cautiously.

"Dillon and Elliot have an announcement. Don't worry it's only at Dillon's so you won't exactly have far to go." she began making her way down the stairs before stopping abruptly. "Dillon really wants you to be there, Perrie."

She nodded in response. "I'll try. How is Dillon?"

"He's okay. A bit annoyed he had to miss the match but he's injured so it can't be helped."

Perrie nodded. "By the way Ruby, if you get a chance I need to talk to Alba and your mums if that's okay?"

"Yeah sure. What about?"

"Just...football and stuff." she smiled, and Ruby raised her eyebrows.

"Okay. Mysterious. Anyway, I'll see you tonight." she said, waving goodbye as she descended down the steps from the office.

That evening, Perrie sighed as she watched Ruby and Elliot walked up the path to the Simmonds' house through her window whilst putting in a pair of earrings. She tied her hair back but that was the only real effort she made; she knew that the dinner wouldn't last long if all hell broke lose which she was supposing would most likely happen. Unless Dillon's dad had finally accepted his son which she doubted.

She heard their voices downstairs and made her way onto the landing. She knocked on Liam's door and yelled for him to hurry up before making her way downstairs.

Elliot and Dillon were stood together, Ruby on her own and their dad distancing himself from them all.

Instinctively standing next to Ruby, she raised her eyebrows at the silence that had engulfed the room, before it was broken by Liam stomping down the stairs aggressively, then ignoring all of us as he made his way through to the dining room.

"He's just in a bad mood." Dillon assured them, but Perrie could see he looked on-edge, and she wondered what this whole dinner was for.

Half way through their meal, Dillon cleared his throat like he wanted to talk, and Elliot followed suit; they shared a glance before Dillon began to talk.

"We, um, have an announcement." He said, and Elliot gave him a reassuring glance. "Me and Elliot, we're...we're dating."

The only thing that could be heard was the clink of his dad's cutlery on his plate as he dropped it in surprise. "How...how long has this been going on for?"

"Err, just over two months." Elliot responded, looking as nervous as Dillon.

Perrie looked between them both, unsure what to feel; she was glad they were happy, but how was Dillon's dad going to react?

Without warning, the sound of a sharp scrape from a chair echoed around the house as Liam got up abruptly and headed upstairs without saying a word.

"Liam! Get back here!" His dad called after him, but it was half-hearted, and Liam disobeyed.

Elliot and Dillon looked back to his dad, who simply put down his cutlery and followed his younger son out the room.

"Well that could have gone better." Elliot said with a forced laugh.

"Two months?" Perrie said incredulously. "Did you know about this?" She asked Ruby, who shook her head.

"So you don't mind, Perrie?" Dillon asked.

"Of course I don't. But looks like Liam might need a bit of convincing."

"And your dad." Ruby added, but Perrie shook her head.

"I reckon his dad'll be okay with it soon enough. Now he knows it won't change your football career since Northport are doing so well." She said, rolling her eyes at Dillon's dad's old fashioned attitude.

"But I'm not even playing in the FA cup now cos of my hamstring." Dillon said, running his fingers through his hair in frustration.

It looked like Elliot was about to say something, but was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell.

"I'll get it." Perrie said, leaving the other three to talk, and hopefully for Liam and his dad to come to some sense. She glimpsed the figure of a man through the tinted glass and pulled on the handle.

A familiar figure loomed in front of her, his car parked perfectly on the drive behind him and a girl and a boy waiting a few steps behind it.

"Dad?"
