"What do you mean, where was I? I told you, I went straight home." I said, trying to hide the anxiety in my voice.
"But Jamie's dad told me you were in the car when it happened, so why are you lying?" Boggy asked.
"I mean it, I just went straight home!" I pleaded.
"Isn't it funny how you keep saying that, and I keep not believing you?" Ruby said, smiling viciously.
"Stay out of it Ruby." After silence, I decided to explain. "I was in the car, but after I just went straight home I swear." This wasn't a lie, I just didn't specify which side of the car I was on.
"So then why did you lie?" Boggy asked. "The other day you told me that you were..."
But he was cut off by a voice in the background."I'll tell you why she lied. Because she was the one who ran me over."
This statement was followed by a stunned silence and I opened my mouth about to say something, but no words came out. How could he tell them all?
"What?" Dillon said, breathless with shock.
"You heard me." Jamie said, nearly looking satisfied at himself.
Nobody spoke, all too stunned to say anything. All except for Ruby. "Ha I knew it."
"No you didn't!" I yelled. She was really getting on my nerves.
"I can't believe you, making me feel sorry for you about breaking up with Jamie? I don't blame him for dumping you." Dillon said angrily.
I couldn't take the silence that followed that line, so I got up and grabbed my things, ready to leave.
When I got back to the house, Dillon's dad was not in, and I didn't have my key, so I made my way to the club to hang out alone until Dillon got back. I sat down on a bench in the cafe, looking on my phone.
"What's wrong?" Someone said after I buried my face in my hands.
A boy, around my age, walked up to me. It was that boy Jayden.
"Well my ex-boyfriend just told everyone that I ran him over so now he can't play football and everyone hates me. Again."

Jayden laughed.
"I'm not joking y'know." I said sadly.
His smile disappeared.
"Oh."
There was an awkward silence before Jayden came and sat down opposite me. "I'm sure some of what you've done is fixable," he said, "I mean you might not get back with your boyfriend, but that's not too bad, right?"
I gave him a weird look.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing." He said smiling. We just kind of sat there awkwardly for a while, I was really uptight around this boy, he made me feel so nervous for some reason.
"Anyway, I'll see you later." He said, leaving but smiling at me.
