"Dillon!"breathless, Perrie dashed into the police station and ran straight to Dillon. "What happened?"

"I dunno. He didn't show up to training and he didn't come home last night. We thought he was just staying at a mate's."

"Shouldn't someone go back to the house? In case he goes there?"

"Dad's got a camera outside the house. For burglars, y'know. We'll see him if he's there."

Mr Simmonds walked over, his brow furrowed and then began pacing up and down, not saying a word.

"Well we can't just sit here! Let's go look for him!" Perrie persisted.

"Now!? It's nearly midnight!" Dillon replied, looking defeated. Perrie opened her mouth to protest, but his dad spoke up, the first words since she got there.

"He's right. There's no point now. The police are looking."

"Does your mum know?" Perrie asked Dillon, who nodded in response.

"But she's working away. She won't be back tonight." He said, as he sat down in a nearby chair. He put his head in his hands for a second and then sat back, as if too tired to think. Perrie sat down next to him, realizing just how tired she was too.

Dillon's POV
Perrie had fallen asleep, but I lay awake. My little brother was missing. How had I not known? Why didn't I question where he was last night?
As for the girl next to me, why hadn't I stuck up for her? Why would I ever think she would fight Ruby? It seemed like I was getting everything wrong. Not to mention Elliot. I'd messed everything up with him as well.
It was about 2 in the morning when my phone buzzed. Frantically, I reached for it, hoping to hear news of Liam, instead, it was my mum, telling us she would be back by the morning.

The noise of the phone had woken up Perrie, who looked around, before taking in her surroundings and remembering why she was sat in a police station lobby at two o'clock in the morning.

"What's going on?" She asked, stretching.

"Just my mum telling us she's be home soon."
"Oh."

After silence, I spoke, needing to tell my best friend I was wrong. "Look Pez, i need to apologize. I know you didn't fight Ruby."
She sat up in alarm.

"And you didn't say !? I lost my captaincy thanks to you!" Her face turned from tiredness to anger, and she was sat up straight, staring me in the face.

"You didn't tell me that! Anyway I didn't know until after. Ruby admitted it to me. Thought I'd be on her side."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. Look I can speak to Duncan. He can get you your captaincy back." I said sincerely.

"Nah, it's fine. I don't think I was cut out to be captain anyway."

"You're right about that." I said, joking.

She smiled. "Remember when we met, Dillon?"

"You mean in a stairwell at a Hawkstone game?" I replied, smiling as the memory swan to the front of my mind.

"You were mad, because you were lost. You didn't tell me that, but it was obvious."

"I know. I left a dent in the door after kicking it."

She laughed. "Then you didn't believe that Theo was my brother."

"I was such an idiot."

"Nah. I probably wouldn't have believed myself either."

There was a few moments of silence as we reminisced.

"Have you ever been back to your hangout on the roof of the stadium?! We used to spend so much time up there." I asked.

"No. I think it's still blocked off after that time Jamie forgot to lock it." She replied sadly. "But I mean, I have'nt checked for ages. Can't even remember the last time I went to a Hawkstone game. Not since Theo left."

"You miss him don't you?"

"Duh. He's my brother." She replied with a smile.

We sat in silence for a while, before falling back asleep.
