"A letter from Marquis de Lafayette for you sir" a messenger steps into the tent where Alex, Washington, John and me are gathered. Washington accepts the letter, opening it quickly. Wiping the anxious sweat drops that are dripping down his forehead away with an off white cloth. "He is making way pushing south. Hamilton take your troops and push towards Redoubt no.10" He demands, "Yes, sir" Alexander salutes with John. "Sampson. I want you by my side" He commands, his stressed blue-grey eyes looking into mine. "Can you guys wait outside" I gesture for Alexander and John to leave the tent, feeling panic at the thought of leaving the men to fend for themselves. "Sir, can't I serve under Alexander" I begin, he shakes his head. "I need you Sampson" He responds, sure of himself. "Sir, please. You'll be alright" I go on, feeling my heart race and my hands sweat. "Alexander and John need me and you know it. Alexander can be irritational and make disastrous spur of the moment decisions and John" I sigh, thinking about previous battles in which he almost died. "It's a wonder John even made it to this battle" I confidently state, I need to convince him. He sighs and dramatically lets himself fall in his chair. "We better win Sampson" He sighs, gesturing for me to leave.

"Thank you Washington" I smile, feeling a million times better. At least when I die, I will have two of my friends with me. I will defend them, until my dying breath if that is what it takes. I quickly step out of the tent, seeing Alexander and John softly talk to each other. "Come on losers, we're going fighting" I demand, tapping Alex on his shoulder and walking on. "Are you coming with us" Alexander asks happily, hugging me tight. "Yeah, you know me. Washington didn't stand a chance against my persuasion techniques" I joke, putting a arm around John. "Well this is very good news indeed" John chuckles, walking with his arm around me. The three of us walking toward the tents, where the soldiers sleep. "This means I am your superior. You will have to obey all of my orders" Alexander smirks, fixing his ponytail and stepping unto a box. I feel my cheeks blush lightly, but I shake it off

"Don't get any crazy ideas in your head Hamilton" I chuckle, handing him a device that makes his volume multiply. He smirks and winks at me, mouthing 'just you wait' to me. "Troupes, we have orders to move out. I want everybody ready in 10 minutes" He yells at the soldiers that are dropping out of their tents. He repeats it two more times, the soldiers now scrambling to gather their equipment and write a last letter to their loved ones. I hold Johns hand, squeezing it lightly and looking intensively at the brown haired man screaming orders at the soldiers. "You guys ready" Alexander asks, stepping of the platform. I nod enthusiastically "Fuck yeah. Let's kill some redcoats" I cheer, punching my fist into the air. Alex and John cheer with me, I check if all my weapons are there. Dagger? Check, Bayonet? Check, Short sword? Check, my back up dagger? Check. I've got everything I need. I already gave Martha my letters to Jimmy for safekeeping.

Ten minutes later, we are gathered together. Alexander wants to hype up the troupes before we leave. "Are you all ready" He cheers, holding a megaphone. The soldiers cheer, hitting their chest. "They tried to supress us, but are we going to let them" He yells again, making expressive hand gestures with his free hand. "NO" we cheer back, hitting our chest again. "They tried to tax us relentlessly, are we going to let them" he cheers again, hitting his chest. "NO" we yell back at the top of our lungs. "They killed our fellow soldiers, our friends, our family" he yells emotionally, hitting the air with his fist. I think about people we lost in the war and everybody stays silent for a second. Honouring them, with our heads hung low. "We won't.. can't let their deaths be in vain. Let's get out there and claim our land" he riles them up, hitting his chest two times. We copy him. "FOR WASHINGTON" I hear one of the soldiers scream, everybody cheers along. "Let's move out" Alexander commands, stepping of the platform. John and I give him a quick hug and walk towards our horses.
I ride next to Alexander as his second in command. "So do you think we're going to make it out of this alive" Alexander asks, thinking about death as per usual. "Yes, I have to believe you and John will be okay" I confidently state, Alexanders beautiful violet-blue eyes looking into mine. " I don't know Debs. This battle feels bigger than the other ones"
