Grover's POV- Between TBotL and TLO

"Where's Percy?" I whispered to Juniper. "He was supposed to be here ages ago!"

A little boy from the Demeter cabin came to ask me a question, and I answered it as best I could, sending him back to his little group of demigod friends as quickly as possible.

Demigods were cool (sometimes), but the little guys were always the naughtiest.

I should know.

I was the one stuck with bringing Percy to camp when he was twelve.

He wasn't even that young at the time, but boy, was he a wild one.

Juniper shrugged. "Beats me, but there is no way I'm teaching this archery class." She gestured to the loud, chaotic group of Demeter and Hermes kids running around and babbling in front of us. "Everyone here has poor aim, and I do not want to get hit with another flaming arrow. I just made myself this new dress!"

I grinned as she smoothed out her dress meticulously. "Yeah, it looks good, June."

"Don't you 'June' me! You didn't even notice it until now."

"I did! Promise on the tin cans I ate yesterday!"

Juniper sighed. "Fine, but only because you swore on those 'oh so sacred' cans of yours, Grover."

I bumped her shoulder playfully. "Glad to hear that you believe me for once."

"Oh, hush."

"Okay, as much as I love Percy-"

"I don't."

I glared at her. "I was going to say that he needs to be here. Just because I agreed to help teach this class doesn't mean he can wander off and do whatever."

"Why is he even teaching this class? He sucks at archery," Juniper pointed out, walking off slowly.

"Where are you going?"

"You might have promised to help your dearest buddy, but I haven't. I'll be in the grove with my friends if you need me!" Juniper called out.

I waved to her and focused my attention back on the hundreds of demigods before me.

Okay, so there weren't exactly hundreds of them, but there were at least fifty. And that number was way too high.

"When are we starting?" I heard an older girl whine.

I bleated nervously. "Just a minute."

"You've been saying that for the past fifteen minutes," Connor Stoll reminded me as he and Travis continued to write something down in a notebook. I had no doubt that it was their next prank.

"Okay, everyone, stay right here. I'm going to go look for Percy."

The campers cheered as I walked off to look for my best friend.

I decided that an Iris message would be a fast way to contact him, and luckily, I had a drachma in my pocket from a failed purchase of flowers for Juniper.

I found myself near the camp's fountain, and thankfully, there was just enough sunlight for a tiny rainbow. I tossed my drachma into the stream of water and said the name of my best friend.

The water evaporated, and the image of Percy appeared. It didn't seem like he had accepted it on purpose, though.

And he wasn't alone.

"I'm so fed up with you, Percy! You think you know what's best for me all of the time, and it's so annoying. Just get out of my face for once!"

I could recognize that voice anywhere.
