Estelle's POV
Estelle really wanted ice cream.
After countless hours of roaming around the massive amusement park in the blaring heat, all Estelle wanted to do was sit on the long stone bench and enjoy some cold, sweet ice cream with her brother, Percy. So naturally, when she saw an ice-cream cart nearby, she tugged on her older brother's hand.
"What is it, Estelle?" her brother asked, looking up from his phone.
"I want ice-cream!" she announced, pulling Percy towards the cart. Estelle's "r's" sounded more like "w's," so it was really quite adorable when she spoke.
"Me too, Estelle." Percy grinned at his little sister, ruffling her hair.
Estelle made a face and smoothed her hair down. "Percyyy!" Estelle scolded her brother. He just smirked. She didn't like when Percy kept messing up her hair. She worked really hard to comb it. At any rate, Estelle knew that her hair, no matter how messy her annoying brother made it, was still neater than his. His was a messy mop of inky black hair that wouldn't neaten up no matter how much he tugged at it and put that gross, icky stuff her mom called "gel" in it.
But even Estelle couldn't deny that her big brother was handsome. She always scrunched her nose whenever he made bad jokes about his good looks, but even she wasn't as oblivious as Percy when it came to seeing how much the girls swooned when they looked at him and his sea green eyes.
She noticed how girls whispered when he walked by, and how they sighed when he smiled at them. Estelle knew what that meant. The girls only did that to the handsome guys. It was quite ridiculous, really. She wondered how Percy hadn't noticed it yet. Oh well, it was for the best. Although some of the girls seemed nice, most were just sassy and mean and Estelle didn't like them. And she didn't want them to steal her brother. Only nice girls could steal her brother.
Anyhow, she thought her brother was extremely annoying. He sang songs in a ridiculous high-pitched voice, pinched her cheeks so hard they turned red, and bothered her all the time, especially when her friends came over.
But Estelle knew that he was a good brother. He always brought candy home for her, read her favorite stories and watched her favorite movies with her, and got very protective of her, especially when those mean boys at the park threatened to ruin the sand castle she made in the sandbox. So Estelle put up with the annoying things her brother did because despite that, he was a good brother.
Not that Estelle would ever tell Percy that. He would tease her for the rest of her life.
"Percy?"
"Hmm?"
"Can I get two scoops?" Estelle looked at her brother innocently.
"Fine." Percy said. He looked around the park nervously, then leaned in and whispered something to her. "Just don't tell mom." Estelle giggled.
As Percy ordered their ice cream, Estelle looked around the park. They had rode most of the rides, even the scary ones, even though she was only five years old. They had just a couple of rides left, and most were ones that Estelle couldn't go on because of the height restrictions.
She was deciding which one to ride next when Percy nudged her. "Here. Two scoops of cookies and cream. You better finish it." Percy warned.
Estelle noticed that the scoops were kind of small. She knew her brother got two smaller scoops for her so that she could finish it and still get two scoops, without him having to be the bad brother and say "no". She loved her brother for that.
