A/N A big thank you to all the readers who have supported me so far! I love you guys <3

Get ready for some girl gang moments in this one :))

Annabeth's POV

I can't believe it. After months and months of drawing and redrawing the same design, I've finally come up with something!

I'm the head of the architecture branch at Olympus Aquarium, the most famous aquarium in New York. Here at Olympus Aquarium, we try to educate the public on marine life and how to protect the animals out in the wild. Most of the animals here are ones we have rescued; some are at risk for different reasons: injury, habitat destruction, etc.

For months, I've been working on a new design for the left wing of the aquarium, and I'm done.

I just need to show it to my manager, Mr. Jackson, and we can start construction in a couple weeks. I pick up the final blueprints and head out of my office.

I'm practically skipping out of my office as I head down the halls. I think Mr. Jackson's office is a couple hallways down from mine; I've never actually met him before, so I have no idea. I do report to him and need his approval for my ideas and designs, but I usually choose to email him.

But this is one of my biggest projects yet! I need to show it to him in person.

I stop when I see an office marked "Ramírez-Arellano."

Reyna.

Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano.

What a character.

Ever since she came from California to work at Olympus Aquarium a couple months ago, we've hit it off. I can proudly call her one of my best friends. She's independent, tough, inspiring, and a great role model. Reyna's the kind of girl who can hush people with a single look. Her presence is enough to grab peoples' attention. She radiates power and authority.

Reyna's pretty simple too. She dresses in a classy but casual way to work and holds her long, silky black hair back in a French braid every day. She's Puerto-Rican and speaks a good bit of Spanish too.

We have a lot in common actually. I guess that's what makes our friendship so exciting. She certainly isn't the wildest one in the group, but she knows how to have a good time. Reyna helps us color outside the lines per say but ensures we don't stray too far off the page. I'd probably call her the mature, sophisticated one. Reyna also gives us (sensible) life advice, which is something all of us need.

Trust me.

Her workroom is actually the closest to mine, which is why we meet so often and how we became so close. Our other friends have rooms at least 4 hallways down from us, and we're both way too lazy to go find them.

Knock, knock. Pause. Knock, knock, knock, knock. Knock. Pause.

I hear the familiar click of the lock, and the door opens.

"Date prisa! Hurry up!" Reyna ushers me into her office, closing the door frantically behind her.

Another thing I should mention. Reyna hates being interrupted. She likes to sit down, finish her work, and leave. She strongly dislikes random offers to lunch or parties (unless they come from someone in our group). If she's going to socialize, there should be a purpose. That's why we've come up with a pattern for knocking on the door, so she knows who to ignore and who to open the door for.

I look around. Her office is pretty clean and minimalistic; the only sign of someone working is the stack of papers scattered on the desk.

And the huge fuzzy purple chair.
