Kinsley's POV:
I avoid Haden for the next two days. I didn't want to deal with this not eating bs. I even avoided his coffee shop. I wasted two days of free coffee, but I have to say it was worth it. Not seeing Haden was a blessing in disguise. The atmosphere was happier and overall the days just moved by easier.
I wake up and prepare for my classes. Monday's are always my least favorite. I have class with Professor Pervert and I just signed up to take art. I guess one good thing is I can focus my stress and energy after his classes into my art work.
I get out of bed and walk into the bathroom. As I grab my toothbrush I catch a glimpse at my wrist. The bruise finally healed and to be honest I kinda forgot it was there. I slip on my pants and white tank top and make my way back to the main room. I applied some light blush, deodorant, and mascara before finally putting on my perfume. I sit back down on my bad and tie up my laces.
I walk over to my desk and grab my book bag. I grab my jacket and make my way out of the dorm. I know I'm eventuallt going to see Haden in class, so I decided to forget about the whole scone thing for the moment and get a coffee. I only had five days left of free coffee and I need to take advantage of it.
I exited my dorm, locking it behind me. I put in my headphones and start my walk towards the coffee shop. Only Ones Who Know by Arctic Monkeys starts playing and my mind wonders to Haden. I wonder if he likes this song?
My walk went by pretty quickly. I think the music motivated me to walk faster. I open the door and see Haden behind the countertop. His back is turned to me and I don't get his attention at first. He turns around before I could speak, and I think I startled him a little bit.
"Hey."
"Hey. Coffee?"
"Yes, please. No scone this time." I plead with him. Things felt different. I don't know what it was, but the atmosphere in the air is awkward. Our friendship was making really good progress and I really hope I didn't do something to screw it up.
"Okay." He says turning around. I make my way to my usual booth and sit down. Haden comes over with a Large coffee and a chocolate croissant.
"Sorry if this is over stepping, but the first time you came with Jess I noticed you ate it."
"Thanks."
"Also, I'm sorry about the whole scone thing. I'm just worried about your health."
"Don't be Haden." I assure him.
"Why not? You're my friend and I don't want to see you hurting."
"I'll be fine, Haden. Are you going to English today?"
"Yeah, we can walk there together."
"I'd like that. What time does your shift end?"
"I can pretty much leave whenever."
