its been a bit (i recommend going to the last two chapters to understand whats happening)
Kinsley's POV:
The whole car ride was silent between Haden and I, and to be honest, I was fine with it. The comfortable silence between us what cut of by Grey's loud talking.
"What's going on between you two?" He asked.
"What do you mean? Nothings going on." I respond.
"You guys are just being extra quiet."
"Fine, would you rather us yell over your conversation between you and Jess?" I ask.
"No, I was just wondering."
"I'm sure Haden would love to talk to me," I say looking at him "Wouldn't you."
"Of course." He tells me, glancing out the window. I turn back and look at it with him.
"That's it?" Grey asks us.
"What?" Haden says looking over at Grey.
"You guys aren't going to talk?"
"I'm sorry we don't have to talk every second of the day. I'm perfectly fine staring out a window."
"Me too." Haden adds in.
"Turn back around." I motion towards Grey.
"Moody." He whispers under his breath.
"Excuse me?" I question him.
"Nothing."
"No, clearly you wanted me to hear it. Say it to my face."
"fucking bitch" he mumbles under his breath.
"Grey if you're going to say something, say it to my face."
"You're very moody tonight."
"Fuck off." Haden speaks up.
"Did that hurt your ego too much?" I ask Grey.
"Shut up."he says turning back to the front.
"He's awfully annoying tonight." I whispered to Haden.
"Yeah," he nods "I don't know whats happened."
"I can hear you two." Grey speaks up.
"Good" Haden and I say at the same time.
Between that encounter and the constant hmm of the air conditioning, we got to the restaurant rather quickly. Stepping out of the car one by one, we all made our way to the entrance to the restaurant. I immediately felt under dressed compared to those around me. Only in my crop top and jeans, my peers surrounded me in cocktail dresses and button downs. I glanced over at Jess's outfit to see she was wearing a sundress and heels.
I immersed myself into the surroundings. I felt very anxious not knowing what the proper attire was prior to coming. A wave on anxiety hit me, hoping nobody was staring at my outfit. The waitress walked us over to our private room, allowing my nerves to calm down slightly.
I sat down next to Haden and across from Jess. The restaurant was too fancy for my taste. I looked over at the waitress bringing over hot towels to the table, another following with a bottle of champagne.
"Are we celebrating something?" I whispered to Haden.
"Not that I know of" he whispered back. I nodded at his response, returning my gaze to the menu.
I stared blankly at it not knowing what to order. The menu was a one page paper on a chunk of wood. This small but so intricate menu has consumed an immense amount of my time.
