I helped Charlotte into her dress. I pulled the zipper up as she adjusted the straps and I smiled to myself. She looked so pretty and the pale blue looked great against her skin tone.
The hours of the day passed steadily and now it was time for us to start getting dressed. My nerves were creeping back but I did my best to suppress them. I kept silently reminding myself that everything was fine. Everything was going smoothly and we were still right on schedule.
"Keep talking." Charlotte secured her earrings. "You got quiet which means your mind is racing and we don't need you getting worked up."
I chuckled. "I'm alright."
"You're trembling." Charlotte turned around to look at me and held my hands. "It's okay. It's a big day and I'd be worried if you weren't nervous. But I promise you that by the time this day is over, you'll look back and wonder why you were feeling like this."
"I don't even know how to describe how I'm feeling right now." I let go of Charlotte's hands and reached over to pick up her necklace. "It's a whole mixed bag of emotions."
Charlotte turned her back to me and lifted her hair. "That's also normal. What are you feeling?"
"Honestly? Everything." I brought the necklace around and clasped it around Charlotte's neck. "I'm excited about starting this next phase of my life with Jin, I'm nervous about something going wrong, and this super irrational part of me is scared that he will change his mind and bail altogether."
Charlotte shook her head. "The last thing he's going to do is bail."
"I know, hence why I said it's irrational." I started fixing a few parts of Charlotte's hair. "But still, I'm really excited while counting down to when it's over."
Charlotte turned again and sat down. "Like I said before, once you go down there and see him, all of this will wash away. He is going to smile at the sight of you and everyone and everything will disappear."
I grinned and nodded. I felt myself start to relax just at the thought of him. "Maybe a big part of this is that I miss him. It's a big day for us and I can't wait until we can start to celebrate it together."
"And you will, very soon." Charlotte held her arm out towards me with a bracelet in her hand. "Until then, tell me more about your trip to Seoul."
I took the bracelet and clipped it around her wrist. "A lot happened during that trip."

My back was to the living room as I stood in the kitchen, chuckling to myself as I listened to the commotion that was happening behind me. Holiday music was playing amongst the sounds of laughter as the guys worked to decorate their common area. Boxes were scattered everywhere and a 6-foot tall tree was half built in the corner.
I turned to face them to mix eight mugs of hot cocoa. Adding some milk, tiny marshmallows, and whipped cream on top, they were ready. "Help yourselves."
I grabbed one mug to bring to Yoongi, who was sitting off to the side on the floor. He had the task of untangling the lights and unfortunately, trying to figure out why only a quarter of the strand that he was holding was lit. He was concentrating hard and visibly annoyed but did his best to keep that to himself. I set the mug down next to him and grinned. "I already spiked it. If you want more, just let me know."
Yoongi smiled up at me in a silent 'thank you' and I left him alone, being sure to peek over at him here and there to make sure he was alright.
I returned to the kitchen and opened the oven to check on the latest batch of baking cookies. They looked done enough to me, so I took them out and set them on the stove. They were double chocolate with toffee bits and they smelled delicious.
