Charlotte sat and continued to listen to my every word. Even though she'd already heard all of this, she seemed to enjoy hearing it again as much as I loved to retell it. "Tommy seriously needs to take a few pointers from Jin in the romance department."

I chuckled. "From what you've told me, Tommy does just fine in that respect."

"He does, but he is nowhere on Jin's level." Charlotte rested her chin in the palm of her hand with her elbow propped on her knee. "I'm just saying that he could learn some things."

I rolled my eyes. "It's not a competition." I paused and grinned, looking down at the bracelet I was wearing. "But he is amazing. He really knows how to make me feel loved and special."

"As he should because you deserve it." Charlotte looked at me for a moment. "It took you awhile to really believe that, though."

I nodded. "I know it did. I wasn't used to any of it, at all. He showered me with affection yet it wasn't overkill. It wasn't annoying, and I know that's because he didn't expect anything in return other than me caring for him too. There were never any expectations between us."

"It was the perfect balance." Charlotte sighed and smiled. "It's the kind of love that everyone dreams of finding for themselves."

"I wasn't even looking." I started to absentmindedly twirl a loose curl around my finger. "I don't think I really even wanted it up until that point."

Charlotte's smile widened. "Like Jimin said, that's usually when it happens."

The memory of the day I met Jin popped into my head, the thought of him sitting at the table and our eyes meeting for the first time. I still vividly remember the shockwave that went through me in that moment. I didn't know what it meant at the time, but I know now.

Our paths didn't simply cross that day and it wasn't just a random Wednesday night. The stars had aligned the way that they were always meant to and the story of the rest of our lives together finally began.

...............

My head bobbed along to the song coming from my phone as I sat at the desk. I was able to stay in California for the week under the condition that I would get my work done. My fingers quickly passed over the keys on my laptop as I worked, getting caught up. It was only Wednesday, but the next two days would be pretty busy with the guys putting on their last two shows of the tour, so I wanted to get a head start on next week's projects as well. I'd done plenty here and there yesterday and Monday, but this was the first full day I'd had to focus on what I needed to do.

The guys had a day-long photo shoot today. They had to leave very early and I'd only slept for maybe another hour after Jin had left. I knew how much uninterrupted work I could get done, so I got up and got to it.

I had the curtains opened, letting the sunshine fill the room. Unfortunately, the windows didn't open, but that was okay. The bright natural light was still refreshing in its own way.

I hadn't heard from Jin all day apart from the occasional kissy-face or heart emojis, telling me that he was super busy. I'd reply with something similar since I was busy too. I just hoped that he was having a good day. Hardly hearing from him told me that he would probably be exhausted when he got back.

Today marks two weeks since we first met. I know I kept thinking about timing but I couldn't help it. It had become hard for me to grasp the fact that he actually hadn't been a part of my life for years at this point. But only two weeks? Fourteen days? How was that even possible?

I pulled my foot up onto the edge of the seat, bringing my knee to my chest, as I continued to type. RJ was on my lap and giving me the encouragement I needed to get this work done. I have to say, he's a pretty great hype man for being so quiet.
