I watched as Charlotte worked on her makeup. We really have been there for each other's highest highs and lowest lows. Regardless of what is going on, we call each other first. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, either.

Charlotte leaned closer to the mirror as she applied her mascara. "Seriously, ride or die bitches for life." She sat back again, looking at herself. "But for real, at this point, we have to stay friends forever because we know too much about each other."

I chuckled. "It's true. We know all of each other's secrets. One of us would have to die if our friendship ended."

"You aren't kidding." Charlotte sat forward again to work on her other eye. "You're the only person that I ever call when my insomnia kicks in and I can't sleep at 3am."

"Who else will stop you from buying a bunch of shit that you don't need because you're bored?" I slumped down in my chair, careful not to mess up my hair. "You love to shop when you can't sleep. Then you forget all about it and get all of these surprises packages in the mail three days later."

Charlotte laughed. "It's true. Retail therapy is a beast."

"I always call to let you know when I'm taking a mental health day off from work." I smirked. "You never hesitate to suggest some sort of adventure."

"There's no sense in staying home from work if it's a nice day outside." Charlotte twisted her mascara closed and tossed it into her bag. "Even if it's a rainy day, there's always something fun to do when you're playing hooky."

She did always know what I needed. I never called out of work unless I really wasn't feeling well or just didn't feel like being there that day. We would venture out and get lunch, ride around with the windows rolled down, go to the movies, or hang out at the park to get some fresh air. Charlotte would call out of work too when I would tell her I was taking the day off so we could hang out.

"I never need an excuse to take the day off and have some fun." Charlotte spun in her seat and looked at me. "Speaking of fun, what happened next? I know you went five weeks before seeing each other again, which wasn't really all that fun."

"No, it wasn't." I looked down at RJ as he sat in my lap. "I mean, it wasn't all that bad. I missed him like crazy, but we made it work the best we could."

...............

I kept my eyes on the road as it stretched out before me. I was bubbling with excitement and doing my best not to speed as I was drawing closer and closer to him again. According to my GPS, I would be there very soon.

Not a day went by during those five weeks where we didn't see each other's faces. The time difference wasn't easy but his 'good morning' texts quickly turned into daily phone calls since I would be home from work by the time he was waking up to start his day. Sometimes the call would only be for ten minutes and other times it would be for an hour or more. It depended on what he had going on that day, but regardless of the length of time, I cherished every minute, and I know he did too.

We also messaged each other all throughout the day. We would send videos and pictures and did everything that we could to make the physical distance between us as easy to handle as possible.

But now he was here. Well, he was a three-hour drive away, but he was close enough, and I was only minutes away from seeing him. I couldn't wait to see the rest of the guys, too.

My phone was perched on my dashboard and I glanced at it when it started to ring. I smiled when I read the name on the screen and answered it. "Park Jimin."

"Where are you?" Jimin's voice came through my car speakers. "Are you close? How much longer?"

I laughed and brought the GPS back up on my phone. "I should be there in no more than ten minutes, and I still have no idea where I'm going once I get there."
