It seemed to take forever for the doctors to come back out of the room with news about Denki. But when they did, Bakugou spoke to them, Mina holding Sero in her arms. "He'll be ok. Let Bakugou handel the medical side." she whispered, ruffling his dark hair. Sero bit his lip, his fingers twisting his shirt around his wrist.
"I hope he gets out before his parents find him." Sero muttered to himself.
Bakugou walked back to the group, a deep scowl on his face. "Denki is stable but fragile. He can't come home for a while. He's knocked out now."
Sero let out a breath of relief. He was ok. Mina let out a tiny cheer but they still had one overarching problem. Kirishima had went to the front desk to see if he could stop the phone call to Denki's parents but when the red head returned with a annoyed and angry frown, Sero knew the answer.
"This sucks." was all he could say aloud in that moment. Visiting hours would be over soon and Denki wasn't waking up tonight so all Sero could do was pile in Kirishima's car and drive home in silence.
"Lets stop and get dinner. I don't think anybody feels like cooking tonight." Kirishima said, pulling into a drive thru. "I'll pay."
"Just a burger and fries and a pepsi." Mina said from the backseat. Bakugou had given up his reins on the passenger seat for Sero who needed space away from Mina's cuddly back seat manners.
"Same." Bakugou called out. His arms were crossed with a pout at not sitting next to his lover. Sero snorted which lessened the tension.
"I'll get the chicken sandwich and fries and milkshake." he said to Kirishima who nodded and ordered the food. While they waited in the drive thru, Sero closed his eyes and relaxed. Denki was ok and he was safe. He'd visit tomorrow and see when the blond could come home.
"Here. Take this before i spill." Kirishima handed Sero the tray of drinks which he passed out. The bag of food was opened and food was distributed among the group as they took a slow drive home. It was about 10 minuets later when they walked into the darkened house. Bakugou made his way to the kitchen, hell bent on doing something productive like the breakfast dishes that sat in cold water.
"Those dishes must be your mortal enemy with the way you curse at them." Mina teased, stealing a soda from the fridge. Bakugou kicked her out swiftly, shutting the kitchen door. Kirishima made his way to the living room to watch T.v.
Sero watched his pink haired friend tackle hug Kirishima as he walked up the stair case. Once he got to his and Denki's room, he flopped on the bed and let out a sigh.
The bedroom seemed colder without the blond by his side. Sero felt tears prick the corners of his eyes and his throat got painfully tight as he held back sobs. He felt so stupid. How could he not notice Denki acting strange? The blond seemed more...dazed today. Like his body felt off.
He needed to tell him these things damn it!
Sero rubbed his face on his pillow, closing his eyes so tight, colors started to appear.
Eventually he feel asleep.
The next morning, Sero woke up, feeling unrested and jittery. Kirishima was already awake, making breakfast for himself and a sleepy Mina. "Bakugou has classes today. So it's just us. Mina you have stuff to do too."
"Uggg." the pink haired girl whined, he head falling against the table. Sero ate a granola bar and a bottle of water before he began pestering Kirishima.
"When do we leave?"
"At 8:40. Visiting hours start at 9:00."
Sero sat and waited, shaking his leg impatiently as he waited for Kirishima to leave.
Kirishima put a hand on Sero shoulder "Alright, we can leave. But Bakugou said Denki might not be awake."
"I don't care. I still wanna be there." Sero said with a little more force then needed.
"Whatever you say. I'm here for you though bro."
Sero smiled. "Thanks Kiri."
The hospitial seemed so far away. Even if the ride was a shirt 15 minuets away, it seemed way longer. Sero was relieved when they finally parked and entered the building. The lady at the desk was blond and short, light blue scrubs with printed teddy bears. "Hi can i help you?"
"Yes, we're here to see a Denki Kaminari?" Sero rushed out. The lady smiled and typed on her computer.
"He's up on the third floor, room 320. Name please?" Before Sero could react, Kirishima spoke.
"Kirishima Eijiro." The lady waved them off with a cheery goodbye.
"Why'd you say your name?"
Kirishima's frown deepened. "Denki's parents might put you on the do not admit list. I'm just being cautious in case they actually did come when the hospital called."
Sero let out a noise of agreement, focusing on the numbers that slowly climbed to three. In all honesty the ride was only a few seconds.
Kirishima walked down the hall, mumbling the numbers to himself. When they got to Denki's room, the blond was spooning jello into his mouth, watching spongebob.
"Denki!"
The blond turned to Sero, his eyes and expression brightening.
"Sero!" Sero rushed forward and pulled Denki into his arms. Denki had a iv in and a heart monitor set up beside him. It pained Sero to see the blond like that. "I was worried you wouldn't come see me."
"Of course i would you idiot. You scared all of us." Denki let out a tiny sob.
"I'm so sorry! I should have told you i didn't feel right. But i was scared you'd freak and lock me up inside or something!"
"No way dude! We need to know theses things!" Kirishima said crossing his arms. "I'm just glad your ok. Do you know when your coming home?"
"No. The doctors are all hush hush."
Kirishima grabbed his phone and turned to leave. "I'll tell Bakugou to meet us here during his lunch break. His professor; Aizawa is pretty chill about being late for serious stuff. And i'm sure he can figure this out."
"Ok. Thanks Kiri."
"Sure thing!" The red head chirped out, leaving the room.
"Wanna lay with me?" Denki asked, scooting over on the huge hospital bed. The blankets had moved to show he was wearing hospital clothes, with those ECG stickers attacked to his visible chest.
"Yeah. You sure that's allowed with all the tubes?"
"Don't be dramatic. It's a IV to help the pain and give my body fluids. Lay with me." Sero climbed next to Denki, pulling his close.
"So, did they give you trouble at the front desk?"
"No. The lady was nice. She let us go right up. How are you feeling?"
Denki smirked "Better. Now that your here."
"Even on a hospital bed, your still flirty..."
Sero and Denki erupted into laughter. It felt good to laugh.
"Denki?" a familar voice called from the door. There stood Denki's mom and dad.
