"The cancer spread to my heart. Sero, i only have three years to live"

The words shocked Sero to silence.

Wasn't lung cancer operable?

He didn't want to believe it but the way the blond looked at him with a look of hopelessness, it forced him to believe it.

"Isn't the cancer operable?"

"My heart is too weak to operate. It could kill me. The doctors said that the best way to go about it would be to get a heart transplant first but it takes years to get one and by then i'd already be..." Denki shudders, pulling Sero close. The teen didn't know what to do. Denki was seventeen, almost an adult. His life was just beginning. It shouldn't be ending.

Denki would be dead by 20.

That thought shocks Sero enough to feel like screaming at whatever god or science created them and force them to say why a sweet guy like Denki deserved to die.

"I'll never have a boyfriend, or get married, have kids or travel or..."

"Hey..Calm down. I'm going to stay with you every step of the way. You won't be alone." Sero pulls Denki into his side, rubbing his shoulders.

"And did you say boyfriend?"

"Yeah. I tried to hide it but it's pointless now. I'm going to die anyways."

"Hey. Stop thinking like that." Sero demands, holding Denki at an arms length away.

"I won't let you waste your life away. Sure, it's shorter then we imagined but it's yours. I'm not going to let you wallow in self pity when you can be out searching for a cure or living it up!"

Denki's eyes widen and he starts crying, burring his face in Sero's chest.

"Thank you." he whispers softly, clutching the fabric of the pizza jacket tightly.

Denki looks up, eyeing Sero with a odd look.

"I'm going to confess to my crush."

"Good idea. But tell them about the whole cancer thing first." Sero smiles, feeling his heart breaking inside. Why did the idea of Denki with another person hurt so bad?

"Sero..." Denki brings his face close to Sero's, staring in his eyes with determination. Sero blushes but doesn't push the blond away.

"Yeah?"

The blond presses his lips to Sero's, the taste of a cherry lollypop on his tongue. Sero was shocked but that quickly wore off when the blond moved to sit on his lap. Sero quickly pulls Denki closer, loving the warmth spreading through his body. Denki let out a soft moan when Sero grabbed his waist, slipping his hands under the blonds shirt.

"Denki Kaminari! What do you think your doing?" The shrill voice of Denki's mother shocks bothe boys enough to have them jump apart. Denki's mom was standing at the base of the steps, her arms holding bags of food. Her husband was besides her, his eyes narrowed.

"What do you think your doing with my son?" he booms out, making Sero jump up.

"I swear, we were just..."

"Getting handsy on our porch? I though we told you to stay away from our boy. Your filling his head with...disgusting ideas."

"Mom, dad, please!" Denki begs, his eyes watering again.

"I'm going to die, mom." Denki's voice cracks as he steps closer to his parents. His eyes were pleading, begging them to understand and let Sero stay. Denki's dad pulls him by the arm closer to them, glaring daggers at Sero who stood silently.

"Ouch!"

"Your hurting him!" Sero says quickly, ready to his ...boyfriends? defense. What even were they now?

"Enough Denki! I've had enough of this!" Denki's mom yells at her son, shocking everyone into silence. She turns to glare at Sero, her eyes full of hatred. "We thought that time would destroy that stupid crush my son has on you, but you always seemed to find a way to be together. And now he tells us he doesn't like girls at all. We have a son, Hanata, not a daughter."

"Are you serious? That's why your shoving me away, because Denki's gay?"

Silence is his only answer.

"Mom, Dad?" Denki whispers, his eyes watering. Sero couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Goodbye Hanata. Please stay away from our son." And with that, they pull Denki into the house, slamming the door in Sero's face.
He can hear yelling from inside. Denki's parents must have been pissed. They almost never yelled at their son.

Sero made his way down the steps, hopping on his bike. He biked the half hour to the liquor store where he bought the biggest bottle of cheap scotch. He made his way to the local park, not wanting to be home at the moment. Not when the words Denki's mom had spit like venom in his face.

Tipping the bottle back, Sero leans back against the tree's rough trunk, letting out a sigh. There was so many things he wished he could say to Denki's parents. But going there drunk wasn't the best idea.

Once the bottle was drained, Sero clumsily threw it in the garbage before mounting his bike and slowly making his way home. The trip took longer due to Sero's blurred vision. He was super drunk by the time he stumbled into his unlocked apartment.

Did he leave it unlocked? Usual he never forgot to lock it.

Sero made his way to his room where Denki was curled up in his bed. Of course the blond knew where Sero hid his extra key. Denki sits up, standing off the bed.

"Where were you? I've been waiting for you."

"I umm...Went for a walk." Sero slurs, making Denki cringe.

"Are you drunk? You promised you wouldn't drink anymore."

Drinking had left Sero a mess in the past. Once when he was drunk he had hit Denki when they got into an argument. That's what sparked the hatred Denki's parents had for Sero, even if he apologized many times. He promised never to drink again but here he went, drunk off his ass in front of the only person who cared for him.

Denki dragged Sero to the kitchen, sitting him on a chair. He poured him a huge glass of ice water, setting on the table before dragging Sero to the bathroom.

"Don't be mad." Denki forced Sero's head under the shower, turning the water to the coldest setting. The icy water woke Sero up, draining away the fuzzy feeling the scotch had left.

"What the fuck, Denki?"

Denki wrapped a towel around Sero's shoulders, giving him a stern glare. "I wasn't going to spend the night with a drunk, Sero. Your a ass when your drunk." Sero allowed Denki to lead him back to the kitchen where he chugged the icy water. He didn't want to be alone he realized. Denki needed him and here he was getting drunk again. He felt like shit.

"I'm sorry. I guess i relapsed." Denki puffed his cheeks out and Sero prepared himself for a verbal beating.

But Denki just sighed heavily before resting his head on Sero's chest, hugging him close.

"It's fine. Just don't do it again, ok?"
