In a flash, Christmas had come and gone. The snowy streets had melted away and left behind cold rainy days. Every one was still in their best moods and it didn't look like this would end any time soon.
It was Sunday morning and we were all getting ready to leave number 12 Grimmauld place to make our way off to the Hogwarts express. I was filled with mixed emotions about going back to Hogwarts. One reason being the troll of a teacher waiting for us beyond the stone walls and another being excited to go back to DA meetings which were the only hope we really had of things getting better at school.
It was now time to pack my last few belongings into my trunk before we go and with all my Christmas presents, this became quite the struggle.
"Do you need some help?" Ginny asked as my trunk burst open for third time
"It won't fit" I huffed slightly out of breathe. Not only would my trunk not stay shut, but it was beginning to feel more and more like a workout "I give up"
"Here. I'll take some of your presents that won't fit and they can go in my bag" Ginny moved over to where I was seated and began stuffing some of my sweets and books into her bag "I promise I won't eat any of them" she laughed
"Are you sure? It's a lot of sweets"
"Honestly it's fine. Do you want me to pack your camera?" Ginny asked
"I think I'll keep this one in my other bag"
With Ginny now carrying almost all of my Christmas presents in her bag, and due to George, Ron and Harry getting me identical sets of sweets, it was a lot. I could now peacefully close my trunk and keep it shut.
Hermione had already fully packed the night before, with her usually check list. She insisted that Ginny and I do the same, which we probably should have, but decided to leave the last few things for the morning of today.
I had before hand changed into some warm clothes with my comfy knitted hat from Molly.
Ron, who was still determined his jacket was awful on him, refused to wear it and only put it on to make Molly feel happy or whenever she asked where it was. 'It's just tucked away. I don't want to get food down it and ruin it' he would say. Fred and George also had mixed feelings about the matching scarves they had received, but even they still wore them gratefully. Where as, Ginny, Hermione and I were very pleased with our hats and wore them.
Over the time stayed at Grimmauld place, we never really left the house. It was hard because the house is hidden and how would it look if a whole family just magically appeared and left a house that was never meant to exist? However, when it was snowing, we got the odd opportunity to go and have snow ball fights, which Fred and George would complain about not being able to enchant the snowballs like they do back at school.
"Are you girls ready to go? We will be leaving soon" Molly called from the downstairs hallway.
Hermione, being her organised self, was already downstairs with her belongings, leaving Ginny and I to be the last ones ready to go.
"One minute mum" Ginny called back down the stairs to where everyone was waiting.
We both carefully lifted our heavy trunks and began to head down, stumbling slightly along the way.
"Fred, George, help out the girls will you?" said Molly as she watched us struggle to not miss a step and go tumbling down the stairs.
Once the two had taken the trunks from our hands, we could finally stand up properly and walk down to join the others.
