Part 9- the first task

I had hardly gotten a good nights sleep. I was so worried about Harry and what was going to happen at the first task. I am hopping he doesn't get the Hungarian Horntail. 

After waking up Hermione we both quickly got ready and headed down to the common room. we were so nervous we skipped breakfast. I felt I had no time to eat. "I will see you down there. have fun with Fred" she said before giving me a smile. 

Soon after she left Fred walked in. I instantly felt much better when I saw his smiling face. "I saw you missed breakfast so I brought you up some toast" I smiled at him holding out a plate in front of me. 

"thank you" once again he had caused major butterflies to form in my stomach. 

when I had finished eating, we headed down to the Quidditch pitch that had been turned into a massive arena. Oliver wood wont be too pleased about this. the sound of excited cheers and the twins shouting about their bets were all I could hear. 

It had felt like forever waiting for the other champions to pass. None so far had the Hungarian Horntail and this made me worry for harry even more. I was feeling even more scared as the wait went on. My eyes fixed upon harry who was walking out and preparing to take on the dragon. I could see the fear on his face but it suddenly left when he noticed the golden egg. As he walked towards it he was taken off the floor from the crash of the dragons tail. The whole crowed gasped. I was so focused on Harry I didn't even realise I grabbed Fred's hand out of fear. I looked up to him as he looked down at my hand and smiled. I quickly took my hand out of his and focused back on the task. I could feel the heat of the dragons flames as they were blown towards Harry who was blocking them hidden behind a rock. I could see him struggling to run and get closer to the egg. 

"your wand harry! your wand!" I heard Hermione shout from a few seats behind me.

"accio firebolt" it took a few moments before Harry's broom finally came soaring into the arena. He jumped and held tight onto it. The crowed cheered even louder as he soared towards the egg. He missed by an inch dodging the dragons flames again. The dodge caused harry to head up higher towards the clouds attempting to get away from the dragon. The dragon had broke free following after him.

 "well done dragon" I heard the twins shout. I couldn't even focus on saying something to them. 

We had lost sight of harry and the dragon. I couldn't help but think of the worst. All I wanted to do was find out what was going on, but couldn't. I felt Fred place his warm hand into mine and he gave it a little reassuring squeeze. This calmed my nerves a little. As I looked down at out intertwined hands I heard the crowd begin to cheer. I looked up and saw harry flying down with a half burnt broom. He swooped down and grabbed the golden egg.

Back at the common room everyone was clapping and cheering for Harry's success, even the paintings  "yes harry... we knew you wouldn't die.. loose a leg or an arm... pack it in altogether NEVER" the twins had thrown Harry onto their shoulders. I had never seen everyone so happy. 

"shush!" Seamus shouted causing the room to fall silent "go on harry whats the clue" he said passing the egg to him.

 "who wants me to open it?" the room filled with cheers "do you want me to open it!" more cheers followed even louder. As harry opened the egg the room was filled with this awful screeching sound causing the twins to drop Harry and fall to the floor. He quickly shut the egg causing the sound to stop

 "what the bloody hell was that" all eyes fixed upon Ron. This is going to be awkward.

 "alright everyone go back to your knitting.. this is going to be awkward enough without you nosy sods listening" the twins suggested and everyone went into their individual conversations. I walked off and sat down with Hermione trying to listen into their conversation. 

They had finally made up. Everything felt perfectly into place and as normal as they could be given the situation. I got up from my seat and walked over to Harry and brought him into a hug "Harry I was so scared for you" as we released each other from the hug he smiled 

"I honestly couldn't have done it without you and Hermione. thank you" 

The night fell short after that. The celebrations had ended and I was sitting with Hermione and Ginny on the sofa. "what do you think that clue meant?" Ginny asked 

"I have no clue but whatever it did almost made us all go deaf" we all laughed. 

"I say it is time for bed now" Hermione suggested. we all followed up to our rooms and drifted off to sleep.
