fred weasley x reader

Part 18- summer

I had been spending as much time with my mum as possible, over the first week of summer. Although she isn't familiar with the wizard world, she still knew something was up. I didn't really have much to say about the schools year. Of course I told her about Fred but I avoided as much conversation about Cedric and the whole end of year situation. 

"I am just going to pop to the shop and get some food for dinner" my mum spoke whilst gathering her things into a bag "won't be long"

"okay. I will be doing some studying" I had been enjoying being at home but it wasn't as entertaining as being at the burrow and I was missing Fred loads. 

As she left me with my thoughts, they were suddenly interrupted by and owl flying into the window, taking me by surprise. As I gently swapped the letters with an owl treat I noticed three letters. One clearly from Ron, another from Ginny and one from Fred. I decided to open Freds first:

dear y/n 

I miss you so much! I want these two weeks to go by faster. Sorry for taking so long to reply but we have been staying somewhere different and mum will send you the details closer to the time. 

Rons been real annoying. Think I might end up killing him. George and I have been working on more products for the joke shop with help from Harrys victory money. I Can't wait for you to see them. We also passed our Apparition tests. Just to warn you mums made a new rule for when you arrive. NO CLOSED DOORS but I'm sure we will find a way around that. 

Will see you soon,

After I was finished reading all three letters, I took out a quill and began to write my reply

dear Fred,

Of course I haven't forgotten.

I miss you so much too. I can't wait to see you. Mums been asking about you loads, it's embarrassing really, think she wants to meet you some time soon. I can't wait to see where you have been staying. How are the others?

Be nice to Ginny please. She told me about what you did with puking pasties, at least test on someone else and try your best to stay out of trouble. Congratulations on passing your apparition. I'm sure it will be very useful. 

About this new rule, why? I hope Molly won't be on our case the whole time.

With that done I replied to the others before sending them back off to where ever it was they were staying.

Over the last two weeks Fred and I sent letters back and forth as much as we could. Mum and I decided it was a good time to go shopping at Diagon Alley and get all my school supplies. As we were walking through the magical streets, I couldn't help but hope I would run into at least one familiar red head, but none were in sight. 

Once we arrived back home a letter was waiting for me 

Dear y/n, 

How have you been deary? How is your mother doing? 

Freds been missing you terribly and so have all of us. I am hoping that once you arrive the twins will behave better. Arthur will be picking you up at around afternoon time tomorrow to bring you over to where we have been staying. I hope you will be packed and ready for his arrival.

After reading the letter I was filled with joy. I can't wait to see them all again. "Mum, Arthur will be coming over tomorrow to take me to go stay with them. Is that okay?" 

"yes of course it is" she brought me into a tight loving hug "be safe at school" the words made me think that maybe she knew more about what had happened than she lead on.

"I will, you don't have to worry." I released myself from the hug "I'm going to go pack"
