After a two weeks of constant studying and neglecting my social life not that I have any,am finally done with exams and high school. it's a bitter sweet moment for me because now I don't get to go to school anymore and be with my friends or at least my few classmates that still like me on the other hand I don't get to go to school and meet my ex friends and their accomplices that don't like me so it's all good I guess.
Amie one of my classmates told me that Fatima is having a get together at her house and she invited everyone in our class and even people from the other classes and no surprise I didn't get an invite but whatever because me and my other friends who I don't even go to the same school with are going to the bonfire by the beach and what can beat that. I'll much rather go to that than hang out with some losers.The bonfire is starting at 8 and that means that I have to be there by at least 9 or say 10 I mean let's face it we all know it won't start that early. So I had sometime to take a long ass nap to take the edge off and also watch some movie or just be on YouTube to pass time. I miss chilling and not having to worry about an exams that 'decides our life' in our principals words or shall I say former principal.
So at 8 i sent Saihou a message asking him if we are still going but also making sure he hasn't forgotten me or worst decided that he would be better off without me there so he can do whatever we wants. So if you're wondering after the whole making out with Saihou thing happened. We are still friends I don't like pressure neither does he and I love that we haven't put a label on it. It's just two people that like each other having fun. We are not rushing into a relationship just because we made out
I cant be more thankful of that and we did make out a few more times but that doesn't mean we are dating or whatever we are slightly a bit more protective of each other and none of us said the big L word. Whenever we are alone it's like we cant stop ourselves and sometimes I feel really stupid but I've come to terms with the fact that I don't make very clever choices when am around him and also ever for a matter of fact. Sometimes I feel like I want to say 'the L word' to him and I feel like he wants to say 'the L word' to me too but pride baby girl is bitcher than karma if that makes sense . Oh the 'L word' means love if you're still not picking up on it . I just don't like throwing that word all over the place don't judge me it carries so much weight.
After a string of messages between us and Iss in our little group chat. Iss created a WhatsApp group chat of just us three and named it 'the three musketeers' but its four of us and it has been a group of them three so I guess am the intruder .At first I thought Iss hated me but it turns out that he is an asshole to everyone and am no exception but it's cool and he is so cool with our 'situationship'. Since we are a step away from being in an actual relationship and a step away from being friends we are in an awkward place between the two and why not call it what it is, a situationship.
Saihou came to get me at my house at my gate 9:16. After we he couldn't stand up to greet my dad the last time, he refuses to enter our house talking about not wanting my dad to see him. He apologised for being tardy and blamed it all on the traffic but looking at him I'll disagree . This boy took his sweet little time to get ready and smells even better.
"I thought you ditched me" I accused
"Sorry and you look really nice and basic" he says
"You didn't have to add the basic part but thanks and so do you" I say to him
"Lemme see that booty" he flirts
"Stop you're driving I don't want to die right not and definitely not with you" I joke
"You know you'll rather die with me than anyone else babygirl" he says and smiles
" You're crazy and where is Iss? Why are you taking the long way you were suppose to take the other turn" I say everything in one breath
"Iss is there already i think and I have to pick Teeda up from her house"
"Ohhh okay" I say
Saihou turns on the music after my very short answer.
After a very quiet drive to Teeda's house we get there and Saihou calls to her come out and this girl made us wait for more than ten minutes and I know because I kept constantly checking my phone in apprehension. She comes out and flugs the car door open and shut in a swift motion. She didn't even say hi to me instead she goes
"Saihou where is Iss? I thought you were coming with him" she says to Saihou specifically emphasising one the 'him' not sparing me a glace
"He went ahead and you kept us waiting" Saihou says
"I know sorry" she says
I looked behind to peek at what she is wearing and bitch is wearing shorts. Am not mad at her because it's going to be windy at the beach today. I cant wait to see her bitch ass shivering in the cold.
We get to the beach and crispy sea wind greeted us couldn't be happier with my outfit . Am wearing white long sleeve,grey sweats and socks paired with slides and a baseball hat. I look and feel cool as hell. I take a second look at Teeda and she is looking at me too.You can hate the bitch but you cant hate her outfit. I smile at myself in satisfaction. She is wearing socks with black and white vans with a jacket over her tshirt. She looks good but that's fine because I look better. We went over to the crowd with a glistening fire in the centre of everyone. I spot Iss and nudge Saihou on his side to look at him too. He is wearing a 'haftan' what the actual fuck is wrong with him.
"Boy what are you wearing" Saihou says and started laughing at him
"Clothes or would you rather I come here looking like a football player like you and your girls?" Iss retorted catching me in surprise
"I didn't even say anything to you and you just-" Teeda rudely interrupts me saying
"You mean we" mentioning between me and her and fake laughing. I can see right through her fake ass.
"Am speaking for myself and not you and you should do the same if you want attention so badly" I said defensively
"Maryam stop" Saihou says
"You are very rude Maryam I didn't do nothing but be nice to you but you choose not to like me and that's all on you but don't ever be rude to me or ill-" Teeda says in one breath and by this time I can feel all eyes on us and we are standing dangerously close to the fire
"Or what Teeda what will you do huh you came into the car and met me there and you couldn't even say hi to me and let's not forget you have been doing it for all these weeks that we've been studying together. You don't say one word to me and suddenly you want to buddy up because you see people around" I retorted raising my voice as well
"You are nothing but a bitch and a sneaky little whore that's what you are and be glad that you don't know what am going to do because it won't be good for you" she says
"I am not scared of you and I fully know girls like you . Whatever you are capable of that's all on you I don't fucking care you crazy ass,stupid ass bitch" I say to her she is not the brightest crayon in the box to be fair.I feel saihou's hands pulling me away from her and Iss doing the same to her and some people murmuring. We are causing a scene but I could careless
"Fuck you Maryam you are nothing but a spoilt little brat maybe thats why no one likes you and you don't have any friends .If you have a problem with me just say it than keeping it to yourself and hurting your own feelings" she says
"Atleast am not a pretentious little dim witt oh sorry I guess you do not even know what that means since your brain cant process anything other than boys and money" I say to her in a mocking tone
"Okay that's it" she says and begins charging at me with all her might
I see is Iss trying to carry her away from the scene but then his haftan catches fire and he drops Teeda on the sand and started running to the water with Saihou running after him. Some people kept shouting fire! fire! some shouted run! and am pretty sure I heard someone laugh really loud almost satanic. I was motionless rooted in the same spot. Iss luckily didn't get injured but the bottom part of his haftan is burnt and he came back all wet and angry as hell. No one told him to wear haftan.
"Who was laughing I said who the fuck was laughing" Iss screamed furiously while we all just looked at him. Suddenly everyone started laughing. Everything ends with Iss always.
