We were searching the entire place up and down. I was investigating at Mr. Usui's table when I noticed something. The last drawerat the end is that the handle was strikingly different from the others. The handle has a emerald gem sticking out while the others were just plain wood. When I pushed the gem a small conpartment from the groung rode revealing a laptop. Cross and I froze as we look at the black laptop carefully. What the actual fudge.
"He's smart" I complimented. It was the truth. Well, what could you expect from an infamous foreign gang leader?
Maybe we could find the answerd we've been looking for here.
"We won't find anything here. The whole place is clean, there isn't a speck of dust visible"Daniel complains in the background, he was searching every corner. It was true. The office is entirely clean. The only furniture is this table, portraits and some carpet in the middle. At one look you wouldn't find anything special unless you look closer and use your instincts.
"Just stop blabbering and keep looking" I ordered him. He didn't even notice us and what we had discovered because he was too budy investigating so I just let him. He looked funny like a wannabe Sherlock Holmes so I'd just leave it to him.
"Look I've looked everywhere. I turned those portraits sideways, looked beneath the carpet, tried to find some loose tiles, everything! I tried all of it! It's where they'll likely hide it right? I've watched those cliche action spy movies. It was always like that. But there's nothing here" He speeched. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.
"Yeah yeah whatever" I dismissed and focused on the laptop that was now in front of us. We placed it on the table and tried to turn it on.
My eyebrows furrowed when the screen showed we have to input s password.
"Hey Cross what's the password?" I called his attention. He wad now studying the portrait behind us like he had found something but stops for a minute and approached me with a quick few strides.
"How would I know? I didn't even know there was a fucking laptop below the floor"
"Chill bruh, okay?" I huffed as I tried some words on it. I tried his name. Middle name. Nickname.
"His birthdate?" I ask Cross who was now leaning on the table and I stopped myself from being lost in that lavender scent. Geez Misaki, focus!
"12/01/79" he shortly replied.
I typed the numbers but the word "access denied" just keeps on popping on the screen as the laptop buzzes.
"Let me try" He announced so I moved a little so he could access the laptop.
"My birthdate, mom's, our family day, hid name in Japanese, their anniversary...."
He muttered under his breath while typing for possible passwords on the keyboard.
The list goes on and on and the sound of that "access denied" is killing me.
"....Fuck. What the hell is it?" he impatiently says and for a minute I thought he's gonna threw it across the room.
"Okay, let me try once again" I snatched the laptop away from Cross nd started typing again as Cross lists down important events, dates, names etc. beside me.
"Is it done yet?" Daniel asks who was now sitting next to me after finally noticing us. He yawned and looked at what I was doing tiredly.
"Shut up" I glared at him.
