I was narrating the whole thing Cross' dad had said to Daniel while we were taking a break and munching on our pizza. I engulfed the pizza in one bite. Holy food. 

"Seriously?" he asks incredulously after taking a bite off his pizza and sipping his soda. 

"Do I look like I'm joking?" I raised my eyebrows at him as I got another piece. This is the only triangle I'll worship, bruh. 

" it's hard to take you seriously when you got pizza all over your mouth" he was clearly trying to stop himself from laughing. Cross wasn't eating saying he wasn't hungry and just keep on staring at the portrait behind us almost looking he's examining it, Daniel and I decided to let him be since we knew how hard it is for him.

After realizing what Daniel has said, I swiftly touched the corners of my lips and sure there were crumbs of pizza sticking there. I glared at him. So that's why he looks like he wasn't listening to me and was just ogling at me. 

"Jerk" I threw him my empty soda can which he just barely missed. He was just laughing as I was trying to clear all the crumbs all over my face. Okay, this doesn't happen always. I am not a  messy eater but maybe I am sometimes. 

"Here let me" Daniel presents and leaned closer after he got his handkerchief from his pants' pockets. My breathing stopped as I stared ast my face who was busy wiping the crumbs off the corners of my lips. He's so close!. He suddenly noticed how I froze and for a moment he also did the same looking into my orbs as if trying to read my soul. 

Then a certain someone cleared their throat.

That's when I snapped back to reality. Daniel and I quickly avoided gazes like we were allerguc to each other and pretended nothing happened. I just decided to get another pizza and engulfed it. Misaki! What the heck! Act professional!

"I think I found something" Cross announces after clearing his throat looking at the both of us. 

"What?" I ask curiously with a hint of interest inmy voice. 

He motioned for us to follow him so we did. We were now in front of their family portrait. It was a painting of the three of them where Cross' mother and father were beside each other as Cross was on front with this really cute smile.  I can't with these duality. They were all clad in elegant dresses and suits and at one look they look like a modern royal family. 

"Did you guys notice anything different?" Cross inquires after a few minutes. Daniel looked closely at the picture, examining it. I rolled my eyes. And detective Daniel is back.

We were surprised when Daniel fished a magnifying glass from his jeans' pocket. Seriously.

"Where did you even get that?" We inquire as he starts examining the portrait with the use of the magnifying glass ever so seriously. He was like investigating evidences from a murder scene. 

"I bought it a while ago while I was buying some pizza and there was a store of it just beside it and hey, it was on sale like 40% off" He answered not even glancing at me once as he continues his work. 

"Hey guys look at this" Daniel motioned for us to look into his magnifying glass. And there it was. The gem from Cross' dance necklace were sticking out of  the portrait ever so slightly. So that's why Cross was staring at it for minutes a while ago, he was noticing something. 

"Mom's necklace is also like that" Cross suddenly points the emerald gem that was also on the pendant of his mom's necklace. I nodded as I agreed. 

Next I snatched the magnifying glass from Daniel and examined Cross pendant too.And just what I expected.

"Yours too" I informed as we all examine it. The key shaped pendant that he was wearing there was also sticking out. I f you don't look closely you won't really notice it. What does this mean?
